  • I find this very concerning with the whole totem archetype still being around.

Also, notably, if this gets popped the turn you play it you can follow it up on the next one with Vessina and have all the totems ready to attack.

Either way, totemic Reflection has already proven to be a useful spell and maybe there's room for a totem package in Galakrond.

    Fear the Bloodlust.

There are a lot of interesting wild synergies like Windshear Stormcaller, Draenei Totemcarver or Thunder Bluff Valiant.

In standar, totem shaman looks funny, but idk if will be a thing.

  • Remember Windshear Stormcaller? It's still going to be garbage because it would be a lot simpler to just play Al'Akir in your deck instead, but it's still funny to think about.

I think it's mostly too slow with the Overload 2, although with Totemic Reflection, it could be quite strong. I for one, am a big fan of Totem support, so I like this.

And on a more interesting note, Totem Golem has finally been overthrown as the largest Totem in the game after 5 years.

  • This looks like quite a strong totem. Might make totem shaman even better in standard, and you can hardly go wrong with running this. its deathrattle is always useful. It gives board presence for Bloodlust, it gives taunt against aggro, and it's a totem, meaning you can copy this with Totemic Reflection and Splitting Axe. This car is NUTS.

In wild though... THANK GOODNESS ITS NOT EVEN COSTED. Also i'm afraid of the turn 5 Totem Goliath into that one "if you control all 4 basic totems, summon Al'Akir the Windlord" card (looked it up, it's Windshear Stormcaller. Totem Goliath seems really strong, but if it's ever getting nerfed, they MUST nerf it by 2 mana, otherwise this will be even more broken in a even shaman deck. This card might actually give rise to ODD Totem Shaman in wild.

  • I mean spawning 4 totems is not something to scoff at in Totem Shaman and the body for 5 mana is decent as well. I guess it will depend if the Overload price is too much in the end or not.

  • The card's biggest weakness is that in a fast deck, this fills your board with 0-attack minions when it dies, even though they are bloodlust-able. That and this having an odd mana cost, locking it out of even shaman.

Windshear Stormcaller exists, but any kind of combo with it could almost certainly be improved by just playing al'akir instead.

    • Will this be the support that totem shaman needs to realize a greater potential, at least in wild? Only time will tell, but I'm hopeful myself.

  • with what we know right now, I'm not sure this is good.  I really want it to be because it's super cool but i'm skeptical.

it's a 5 mana 4/5 that doesn't impact the board.  It has to die to summon the totems.  it's vulnerable to single target removal and tempo tools like bounces, silences, transforms, freezes.  it overloads you for two mana so it doesn't curve into bloodlust (in the event that they kill it and can't kill the totems),

you can play one of the zero mana totem buffs and splitting axe but like, idk thats a three card combo and two turn set up and all it does is make a bunch of 2/2s lol.

I guess it can be decent if totem shaman had the early game to be even with most decks, but right now it has to explode on the board around these turns, and this is actually just kind of slow.  if totem shaman had the early game to be at parity, then maybe you could do more with the totems, we'll see.

  • I like it, even though I don't play totem shaman it seems like solid support for that archetype.

  • I initially thought this card is garbage. it's a chillwind yeti that costs (1) more with an overload of (2) on your next turn. Sure the deathrattle gives you 4 0/2 with beneficial effects but they're removed by the weakest of AOE.

Then I noticed it's also a totem, and realized that it synergies with the totem cards Shaman has received the last year. Totemic Reflection will make it a 7/8 and a copy of itself, splitting axe will also copy it. if you purposefully activate the deathrattle you can use Totemic Might for +2 health across your board and Totemic Shock for +2 attack.

The totems creating a wide board can be utilized by the Mogu Fleshshaper to discount itself by (4), or to help create lethal with Bloodlust and Vessina.

With the new spell lightning blossom Shamans will be able to throw this out onto the field by turn 3, and while the overload will mean you wont' have much of a turn 4 your opponent will need to answer it before this snowballs into something dangerous

  • A '5 mana 5/12' spread across 5 bodies seems pretty decent.  After running Totem Shaman for a little bit, this card is a blessing since it makes it easier to actually stick a Totem on the board.  That said, the Overload is harsh and might cause be enough to push this out of consideration, but only time will tell.

  • This is actually really neat and might help continue to push totem Shaman into more than a meme. It's already on the cusp, this card just might do it.

  • you can dupe this guy while giving it +2/+2, you can have it swarm the board with the basic totems.. for vessina as said.. or you can also dupe it with totem splitter..

seems like a fun card tbh.. kind of expensive and slow but it can be fun to play with.

  • Since most of the time an expansion means an archetype per class, will this be an entire totem expansion for shaman?

  • There's a lot of space for this in Wild. Maybe a combo with Windshear Stormcaller is finally possible? I'm also really sad that Tuskarr Totemic was ever nerfed. Can you imagine this popping out on turn 3?

In standard, Totems have received support in the form of buffs that this could capitalise on. However, I think Shaman needs a little more than a 4/5 that makes a few bad 1-cost minions to push it into S/A-tier.

  • Solid card that is instantly playable in totem decks. There might even be a place for it in other shaman decks as well, since the deathrattle's quite handy.

Oh, and its possible to get this on turn 1 with Lightning Bloom, skip turn 2, and Totemic Reflection on turn 3 into opponent concedes.

Its possibly the best thing that could happen to totem shaman.

  • Cards that let Shaman have a better chance at sticking stuff on the board is pretty much always going to have the potential to be scary, given bloodlust. Looks slow, but it being a totem itself is interesting

  • I gave this card 5 stars because I love totems. I am not sure if this will be good, being a deathrattle makes it kind of slow. I hope I open this, if not I may craft it. 4/5 stats isn't the worst, the deathrattle makes it sticky and gives you some extra board presence. The overload though may make this too slow to be good.

  • I am always up to experimenting with totem shaman. It's a nice board refill in the mid to late game. They are pushing the archetype unusually hard with this card.

And he kinda reminds me of the big giant teacher in Harry Potter, so it fits the theme they wanna have for their version of Scholomance, I guess.

  • nice sorta sticky I always struggle to get the right totem from my hero power so this would be useful.

  • Could this give Totem-Shamy the push it needed to be more than just a meme - constantly revived but poorly tooled - in standard ?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

At first I though it was garbage, but then I noticed it was a totem. Great synergy with all the totem copying, but it's too slow, no? 5 mana yeti that also overloads 2 doesn't sound so great.

Still, it's nice we got a totem that isn't just some armor on a stick.

  • Meh .... could be decent - maybe a little slow. Defenitely gonna keep an eye on that one because it has potential but right now i don't think this will be any good.

  • The overload(2) prevents Bloodlust as followup.

I guess it can be compared to Thunder Bluff Valiant for its snowballing power.

In Wild too, which means the card is too slow for both Totem Shaman and Odd Shaman.

It may be interesting in Standard, assuming Aggro is not overwhelming.

  • 7 mana for a 4/5 is too much. The deathrattle can be used by shaman with Totem Buff/Copy or to kill with Bloodlust...but maybe this card is too slow for a Totem shaman

  • Too expensive. A yeti for 5 mana plus overload, and if it dies on your opponent's turn, they can wipe the totems too. Neat concept, but probably not viable.

  • Interesting card. It could be either an unexpected success or pure crap, but I’m sure someone will find a use for it, even if only for meme decks.

  • Cool card, but not very good unless more wide totem synergy comes up

  • There's plenty of totem support in the class - particularly Splitting Axe and Totemic Reflection, and Totem Goliath could certainly make it hard to clear your board in preparation for a big Bloodlust turn, but unless Blizzard reveals a card similar to Windshear Stormcaller in this set, I don't see this card showing up in any serious deck. Between the cost above vanilla and the overload, you're paying 3 mana for the four basic totems. It's a decent rate of return, but as a deathrattle it's super slow.

  • Top end for totem decks, I guess. It's a balanced good card, so it probaly won't see play. Copying this with Totemic Reflection is an 8 mana combo to summon 2 4/5 sticks. And while the Deathrattle is very Bloodlust-able, it's very underwhelming by itself.

I believe this card won't make Totem Shaman, it will at most be a useful tool for the decks endgame.

  • I have a feeling for more totem support, so i will not count this out.

  • Totem Goliath is very scary on turn 5, especially since it can be followed up with Totemic Reflection or Splitting Axe if not removed or a board buff if it is removed and the deathrattle activates. Lorekeeper Polkelt can increase the consistency of curving into a Totem Goliath on turn 5 with the followup of either another one, an activated Vessina, or Splitting Axe, the latter 2 of which can be played even with the 2 overload (just don't run Bloodlust). I think Goliath and Polkelt could seriously push Totem Shaman to Tier 1.

  • I hate it. It's a bait like was the one that summoned AlAkir if you had the 4 basic totems

  • I thought I'd never see the Day, but Totem Shaman might actually become a serious Deck.

Splitting Axe, Totemic Reflection, Totemic Surge, and now this! These few Cards are Everything that Totem Shaman always wanted/needed.

  • I want to summon alakir with this and the epic card so badly

  • I see a world were this might be run in some Totem lists.

  • It is a totem, I think that's more important than its deathrattle.

  • Stats are meh, effect is really bad unless you are playing tokken shaman and even then...

  • The winds will obey your command once you get Windshear Stormcaller Card Image on the board.

  • Very excited for this card because I love totem support since they have been so useless for so long!

I really wish this didn't have overload, but I guess that is what it costs to summon 4 mediocre totems as a deathrattle. Oh well...

  • This card will be hard to deal with in wild.

  • Copy this, have one or two copies die to flood the board and go crazy with all your totems.
Potential to be powerful but could be a little slow.

  • Playing a (5) missing a few stats and hoping it dies is not a good strat. Could be a plan B evolve everything after a board clear, but I think it's better to just streamline your plan A and go for broke. Really wish totens were a thing, not just evolve fodder.

  • I wonder if Vectus plus Totem Goliath would be any good in totem shaman, would definitely make for more sticky totems, that's for sure

  • Like the idea, but is overcosred

  • Maybe one day my dream of summon 2 Al'Akir the Windlord via Windshear Stormcaller is near

  • It's nice to see the Totem archetype getting some mega love this expansion. :D

  • This is an interesting card, especially with all the totem cards available.

  • Wild Windshear deck?!?!  YES!!!

  • Would be fun if Totem Shaman became a thing. I really enjoy the flavour of this card.

  • Totem Shaman is apparently like, not bad right now, so this is actually legitimately an interesting card. I don't know enough about the deck to say if this will be good or not, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on it.
