Very nice to see a volcanic potion for warlocks that doesn't miss demons.
Definitely worth trying out in a lot of renolock decks, maybe even mecha'thun where you can draw the fragments semi-regularly.
EDIT: This does disable reno, but I think that the effect is worth it for the fact that you'll likely draw at least one fragment before you need reno.
I think people will play this because all of the Soul Fragment payoffs are very powerful, but this card specifically doesn't look as good as some of the other cards that shuffle Soul Fragments. I haven't seen Demonwrath played in a very long time. This card will be played because Soul Fragments are probably worth it, but it isn't my favorite card in the Soul Fragment package.
I like it a lot, but I feel like it might clash with Dark Skies.
Then again, having extra AoE and healing is never a bad thing, so I can see this become a staple in control lists (especially if Demon Hunter continues to be at the top of the meta)
Would even play it out without other soul fragment cards, good card overall.
Cheap board clear, and it does good damage. Just look at priests, they are really hard to deal with early game because of their early game board clears. I feel like School Spirits might actually be better than cards that do something similar, like Breath of the Infinite, Holy Nova, or in WILD Demonwrath. Sure most of them are in different classes, but if you compare them i think School Spirits is way better. If you compare it to Holy Nova, School Spirits is 1 mana cheaper, and heals for 4 health. Sure only heals your face, targets ALL minions & you need to find the Soul Fragments first, but the Soul Fragments have a lot of synergy with other cards while in your deck.
This is a great control tool, and that's it. It will only see play in control warlock decks, but it's also healing. And healing is something warlock currently in standard really lacks. Also this won't see play in any highlander decks, because of the Soul Fragments.
I love the soul fragment theme this expansion because it fuels my Rafaam Quest Warlock exceptionally well. This card especially helps get rid of wide boards earlier that Hellfire and is more consistent that Dark Skies, as well as providing some much needed healing and quest ticks. Once the quest is done and Rafaam is in hand, all remaining fragments become random legendaries and help push back fatigue.
Interesting concept. And since warlock likes to draw - should be easy to get the healing part as well.
Volcanic Potion with Soul Fragments seems decent. Unlike Demonwrath, it still hits enemy Demons in mirror matches.
Great control card, both removal and healing in one. Will see play in all control warlock decks.
just being Volcanic Potion is good enough warlock got a TON of control tools this expansion it's currently slightly weaker since the galakround decline but it might be enough to give it new life.
You definetly can't play alexstraza and zephyrs with those cards though.
Volcanic Potion with an upside. Even if you didn't want to play any of the synergies, this is good enough for a control deck that wants the extra healing and the AOE.
Volcanic Potion and powers the Soul Fragment cards. Good but not great.
This is probably one of the better Soul Fragment generators -
Volcanic Potion saw some constructed play in mage decks as early removal (since Arcane Explosion is REALLY bad), and warlocks who play control haven't have good, cheap aoe removal since Defile since KotFT.
True for 1 mana more you can play hellfire, but Hellfire has the drawback of hurting your hero as well, and by turn 4 your opponent's aggressive board my have already hit you for enough that you don't want to deal 3 additional damage to yourself.
This comes out a turn faster, doesn't hurt your hero, and shuffles in 2 cantrips that will heal you for the cost of your hero power, which warlocks love to use.
5 star card, will see play in constructed
Demon wrath was already a good card with the main downside being that it’s useless in the mirror, this still hits demons while also giving you healing later on, and giving fuel for other cards. I’d be amazed if this didn’t see a lot of play
If we can shuffle soul fragment consistently on the first 3 turn, i believe this will see much play. Especially against DH with a lot of 2-hp minions.
Good Card , like Breath of the Infinite or Volcanic Potion and is also helps you with Soul Fragments - but still good even if you would not play Fragments.
Demonwrath got worse because of Demon Hunters, you can't hurt their early Demons. I think it will be played in control anytime aggro rises.
Its yet another AoE for warlock. Cheaper than Hellfire, but doing less damage. Whether this can make it will depend highly on whether the additional soul fragments are worth it, and whether its actually a better meta card than either Dark Skies or crazed [Hearthstone Card (netherwing) Not Found].
Ok board clear for fragments builds. Not bad since the fragments are kind of slow to get to use.
Solid AOE option, plus soul synergy. I think a lot of strategies for DH and 'lock will develop if soul fragments are good.
An AoE that gives you health, basically. Not bad, even on its own.
3 mana deal 2 AoE is always nice, and fueling an archetype that tends to be more control-ish and therefore wants cheap AoE effects is a nice cherry on top.
Definitely decent enough to see play, I don't see a reason why not. You don't even need soul support.
Cheap aoe with future healing. I like it a lot but Lock have some strong "aoe" card right now and if we want play the fragment card we will must cut out some good card
Auto include in all Warlock decks. :D
Great card all around
Good and useful
Volcanic Potion with an upside. Nice
Very good, but the only Soul Fragment card that wouldn't work in Zoo. So that might mean it won't see as much play as the other Soul Fragment cards.
Nice aoe for soul decks
Small board clear with a soul frag generation. At (3) mana, this is pretty good.
Volcanic Potion with an upside? This will definitely see play in Soul Fragment Warlock, but I think Dark Skies just takes its spot in every other Warlock list.
Maybe the extra healing pushes it over Dark Skies, but I think it depends on the minions in the meta.
[Hearthstone Card (Soul Fragment) Not Found] decks gonna be awesome. =)
A nice and useable aoe for soul warlock.
Control for Soul. Not much else to say.
Barely playable even whitout soul frags, but it goes against a aggro/tempo strategy that soul frags decks would like to push. I think it will be tried and ditched shortly, leaving soul frag decks a piece too short.
Solid early AoE, can pop your spiders for you while clearing out the resistance, throws some shards into the deck - versatile, exactly the sort of thing I like to see in Warlock. Playable in anything, required in nothing.
The anti aggro is real. SA, just release already so I can play soul fragments!
This will be run in every Fragment based deck, and will likely find its way into other lists if the meta is sufficiently aggressive. Can't beat a bit of extra healing to go with your board clear.
Cheap aoe with heal.
Autoinclude in every controlish warlock deck.
A good AoE even if you don't run Soul Fragment synergy as it's Volcanic Potion with delayed healing. This is limited to slower Warlock decks due to Zoolock not wanting to destroy all of their minions, but those slower Warlock decks exist already. Overall, a very solid card, especially if you are running Soul Fragment synergies.
Better than the one card from mage
Very flexible board damage with some delayed heal . Not as good, but not that bad either
Nice card for shard synergy.
Anything to do with the new Soul Fragments mechanic gets 5 stars from me! A mini board clear that also puts two of these fragments in the deck to enable the other Fragment related cards or heal? Yes please!
It's a cheaper and only slightly weaker Hellfire that not only doens't damage your hero, but it actually adds healing to the deck. Will definitely see play.
