Voyage to the Sunken City Quick Info

  • New Keyword: Colossal!
    • The ocean depths are home to many massive monsters unlike anything you’ve seen before. These giant creatures are too big to fit on one card! Minions with the Colossal keyword come with extra appendages that synergize with their main body in powerful ways. These appendages are summoned with the main body, even if the Colossal wasn’t played from hand.
  • New Keyword: Dredge!
    • Don’t you hate it when the one card you need is at the very bottom of your deck? Not any more! Dredge is a new keyword that lets you look at the bottom three cards of your deck and pick one to bubble up to the top. You can combine these Dredge cards with new Azsharan cards that send a powerful “Sunken” card to the bottom of your deck. Whether it’s sunken treasures, your cool new Legendary, or a well-timed burn spell, Dredge can help you get just what you need.
  • New Tribe: Naga!
    • The cursed Naga join Hearthstone in this underwater adventure. Naga are a spell-focused minion type that often give you bonuses for playing one or more spells while the Naga are in your hand.

Isn't the minion also "destroyed". Like when a spell gets countered it just vanishes form existance. the same should happen to minions.

And in the case of Priest, should not go to their rez pool. Right

It did not die, so it cannot be found by effects that target minions that "died this game."

Probably prevent it from being played and removes it from opponent hand, while not negating it's mana cost. Like counter spell for minions

Tested it, and what happens is once the minion is played, no effect is played and it is removed. Coutering a minion is effectively silence and remove.

And what about if you secretly choose to counter a secret and your enemy plays a minion? The effect of your minion is discovered and vanishes??

If you choose to counter a spell and they play a minion, it doesn’t show them what you chose but they’ll know.

The counter spell effect should still be there until they play a spell or kill Okani, as he reads “while this is alive.”  That stipulation actually makes this card a little weak, in my honest opinion.  He’s a coin flip essentially.  Will the opponent try to guess and guess wrong?  If they guess right he likely gets removed before countering anything.  And depending on the meta your opponent may have multiple low cost minions and spells to throw away in attempts to test if you chose minion or spell.

I don't understand what you're asking - could you please try to explain it again?

Sometimes my english is bad, also I didn't see the card work so maybe is just a silly question :P

What I understood, you can secretly choose to counter a spell or a minion. Scenario: Let's say you pick "counter minion" option so, What happens when your rival cast a spell that is not being counter?? The card still had the option to counter a minion "as a (known) secret" or once the rival avoids this effect is like he counter it and can freely play a minion??

No, it waits until a minion is played and counters it.

Isn't this basically just a walk back of previous comments saying that the core set changes would be talked about on reveal day? I get it if they delayed that seeing how clearly something went wrong with the scheduling, but April 5? Am I supposed to assume they haven't finalized the core set changes yet and therefore can't show it yet, because certainly that would be ridiculous?

Turn out that the reveal schedule is nearly a month long, in deference to what they have been doing for the last few expansions. So there's no reason to shit out the core set when everyone's hyped about the expansion.

Or if we're being cynical, theyve made some card choices which they know very well the community will start grabbing pitchforks, or alternatively so mundane that everyone gets put off by it.

They might just not want the Core set changes to overshadow/confuse the already tight reveal schedule. The Core set is a big deal, but isn't what Blizz wants people to get excited about since it doesn't sell any packs.

fair enough although it's not like the Core set changes are gonna be all that spectacular. Around 30% are changed, the rest stays the same. Unless they are kicking off the card reveals immediately it would have been a nice bit of content to think about until we actually get new cards
