NieR:Automata The End of Yorha Coming to Nintendo Switch This Fall

The critically-acclaimed Action RPG which has so far sold 6.5 million units is being ported to Nintendo Switch! Here’s the major plot points:

  • Priced at $39.99.
  • Releases on the 6th of October 2022.
  • Includes two DLCs (the second one comes as an optional download).

NieR:What’s It About

The game is a third-person action RPG, not dissimilar in gameplay to other titles such as Darksiders. Players control androids 2B, 9S and A2 and fight to reclaim the world from machine lifeforms while uncovering long-forgotten truths about humanity.

The Free DLCs

The Switch version comes with two free DLCs, the second one exclusive to the Switch. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, prepare yourself for some… interesting name choices.

DLC #1: 3C3C1D119440927

3C3C, as I’ll refer to it, is the non-exclusive DLC that is going to be automatically installed with the base game upon purchase. It contains additional costumers for your characters as well as three challenging colosseums: The Underground Colosseum, Gambler’s Colosseum and the Trial of Sand, which can be accessed through some elevators somewhere (after receiving the ‘Mysterious Letter’ quest).

Each location has its own quest an challenges and some can only be accessed by a specific character. Upon completion of all three, a new quest – ‘Mysterious Invitation’ – takes you to the Amusement Park where there’s a story moment I won’t spoil. Finally, you’ll now unlock harder versions of the three new colosseums. There’s also a secret boss fight, but I’ll leave discovering that one up to you!

DLC #2: 6C2P4A118680823

6C2P is a Nintendo Switch-exclusive DLC which needs to be manually downloaded alongside the base game. It is a fully cosmetic content drop and includes:

  • Six new costumes (we assume two for each character).
  • Four new accessories that change the appearance of your character (so unexpected!).
  • Two pod skins based on characters from the mobile game NieR Re[in]carnation.

You can pre-order the game from Square Enix’s store. Are you going to give it a shot? Let us know in the comments below!
