A Whopping 12 Games Are Added to Xbox Game Pass This Week, Including the Return of 3 Yakuza Games

Great news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers! The service is adding 12 games to the service, including 3 returning ones from the Yakuza series. Some are available right now, others will arrive in the coming days. Let’s take a deeper look at each of them!

The Yakuza Series (Zero, Kiwami, Kiwami 2)

Three games in the popular Yakuza series have returned to Game Pass after previously being pulled from the service. The three games are Yakuza Zero, a prequel to the series set before the first mainline game in the series, and the two Kiwami games, which are remakes of the first two Yakuza games.

The Yakuza games are action-adventure open-world role-playing games where you follow Kazuma Kiryu, as he tried to navigate the political drama of the yakuza life. The service also offers Yakuza 3-6 and Like a Dragon, so the entire mainline series is currently on Game Pass.

Available now on Console, PC and Cloud.

Last Call BBS

A collection of games from indie developer Zachtronics, presented on a retro computer from the late 80/early 90s. It includes 8 puzzle games, including one where you build model Gundams. The developers refer to it as “The last Zachtronics game”, but let’s hope that’s not the case.

Available now on PC as a day one title.

House Flipper

A game where you re-model houses and sell them for a profit. Best way to describe it is “Remodeling Simulator”.

Available now on Console, PC and Cloud.

DJMax Respect V

The latest installment in the DJMax max series, this is a rhythm game with music from Marshmello, Porter Robinson, and Yukika. It also includes full HD music videos, online multiplayer, and new game modes.

Available on Console, PC and Cloud starting on July 7th.

Matchpoint: Tennis Championships

Tennis game developed by Torus Games and published by Kalypso media. The game touts a deep career mode and a strong focus on tactical realism, positioning and aiming. There’s a demo for the game on Steam if you want to try it out.

Available on Console, PC and Cloud starting on July 7th as a day one title.

Route 96

A procedurally generated road trip across the authoritarian nation of Petria. The games sees you go on a story-driven adventure inspired by Tarantino, The Coen Brothers and Bong Joon-ho, according to the devs. The story changes with the choices you make, and no trip is the same as the previous one.

Available on Console, PC and Cloud starting on July 7th.

Escape Academy

Have you even been in an escape room? Escape academy promises to be that, with a dash of wackiness that can be achieved in a video-game, all taking place in a school/university setting. You can play solo or in co-op, either online or local split-screen.

Available on Console and PC starting on July 14th as a day one title.

Overwhelm

Short and sweet metroidvania where the premise is that, when you kill a boss, its power-ups are distributed to other enemies instead of yourself. The game works on a “one-hit kill” system, where getting killed 3 times means you must restart the game from the start.

Available PC starting on July 14th.

PowerWash Simulator

It’s a game where you wash stuff with a high-pressure water gun. Not much else to say, title is pretty self-explanatory.

Available on Console, PC and Cloud starting on July 14th.

PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls & My Friend Peppa Pig

Two licensed games for the little ones to play. Paw Patrol is a 2.5D platformer, while Peppa Pig seems to be a point-and-click adventure. The former has a mixed reception, tending negative, while the latter was received very positively.

Both available on Console, PC and Cloud starting on July 14th.
