Xbox Gives Us the Game Pass Line-up for the Second Half of October, Amnesia and SOMA Join the Service Just in Time for Halloween

It’s that time of the month again, and this is the spooky month! We have a number of new games coming to Game Pass, including some horror titles to play on Halloween. As usual, you can check out out Game Pass vs PS Plus article to get an idea if the service is for you.

Some games presented here will arrive as Game Previews. That’s Game Pass’s version of Early Access, meaning the games aren’t quite finished yet and there’s some polish to be done. Now, let’s get into the games!

A Plague Tale: Requiem

We already mentioned this one in last month’s article, but Xbox mentions it, so we will as well. The sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence (which, sadly, was pulled from the service last month), Requiem sees the player traveling a gorgeous yet brutal world while struggling to survive, using a variety of weapons, tools, and unearthly powers. Also, rats. Lots of rats.

Available today on PC, Xbox Series S|X, and Cloud as a day one title.

Coral Island (Game Preview)

A farming sim set on a tropical island. Grow your crops, explore the island, and dive deep into the surrounding ocean. Keep your wits about you, as there are people there willing to exploit the island rather than explore it, no matter the cost.

Available right now on PC as a Game Preview.

Amnesia: Collection + Amnesia Rebirth

We have number of great first person psychological horror games. Collection contains The Dark Descent and its DLC, Justine, as well as A Machine For Pigs, while Rebirth is the latest game in the series. The games focus on physics-based puzzles, with a survival horror aspect to keep you on your toes.

Both Collection and Rebirth will be available for PC, Console and Cloud starting on October 20th.

Phantom Abyss

Here’s an interesting concept for a game: Explore procedurally generated temples while going up against the ghosts of other players, but you only get to try to beat each temple once. If that sounds like fun, then Devolver Digital’s latest game, developed by Team WIBY, is for you.

Coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Cloud on October 20th as a Game Preview.

SOMA

Speaking of Amnesia, we have another horror game from the developers of The Dark Descent. SOMA takes advantage of the player’s thalassophobia, aka the fear of deep bodies of water, by taking place below the surface of the Atlantic ocean. You’ll have to go up against machines (and worse) that want you dead, all the while having no radio access and running low on food.

Available on PC, Console, and Cloud on October 20th.

Persona 5 Royal

The Phantom Thieves make their way to Game Pass in this definitive version of Persona 5. Live a regular teenage life, while at the same time having the ability to enter people’s psyche to confront their inner demons and turn them good, all by traversing various RPG dungeons.

Available on PC, Console, and Cloud on October 21th.

Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery

You’re a detective. You’re a frog. You have 3 mysteries to solve in this light-hearted trilogy of puzzle games where you play as a frog detective. This collection includes all 3 games in the Frog Detective series in one spot. Ribbit.

Available on PC on October 27th.

Gunfire Reborn

A first-person shooter with roguelike level generation and RPG elements. Play with up to 3 friends in on-line co-op while controlling various anthropomorphic animal characters on the battlefield.

Available for PC, Cloud, and Console on October 27th.

Signalis

Rounding things up with one more horror title, this time inspired aesthetically by the PS1 era. Explore a surreal retrotech world as Elster, a technician looking for her lost partner and her lost dreams. Solve puzzles, discover terrifying secrets, and face nightmarish creatures in this cosmic horror game.

Available on PC, Console, and Cloud on October 27th as a day one title.
