Welcome back to another Concept Art Spotlight for Legends of Runeterra. Nearly 4 months ago is when I tackled the behemoth of an article that was the spotlight for Call of the Mountain. In this article, I'll be showcasing the concept art for the other two sets in this block, Monuments of Power and Cosmic Creation. Why did I not do one for Monuments of Power when it came out? Because there just simply wasn't enough concept art for me to justify making an article out of it. With Cosmic Creation out, there was now enough artwork to make a good article.

As always, the artwork in this article is found on Riot's partner site, Six More Vodka. Links to every artist's Artstation or Deviantart pages will also be provided.

Dragonguard Lookout by William Gist

Our first piece of concept art for this article comes from William Gist who provided this preliminary form of Dragonguard Lookout.

Soraka (Level 1) by Nico Lee Lazarus

Here to be the supportive friend is Soraka. This particular art of her level 1 form was made by Nico Lee Lazarus. Only her level 1 form was posted.

Shyvana by Gerald Parel

Preliminary sketches of Shyvana in both her base form and leveled up form, both made by Gerald Parel. WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE COUNTS AS A DRAGON EVEN WHILE IN HUMAN FORM?!!!

Zoe (Level 1) by Nico Lee Lazarus

Lazarus would also make this sketch of Zoe, whom actually appeared in the artwork of Porofly before getting her own card.

Zoe (Level 2) by Monika Palosz

Zoe's leveled up form meanwhile, would be tackled by Monika Palosz. Nobody else. Just Monika (ehh, I already made that joke in a previous LoR concept art article).

Armed Gearhead by Hugo Lam

Hugo Lam provided this preliminary sketch of Armed Gearhead. The facial expression of the man and the design of the mechanical arm received some notable changes between this sketch and the final artwork.

Viktor (Level 1) by Claudiu-Antoniu Magherusan

Preliminary sketch of the master of augments and P&Z's champion card in Cosmic Creation, Viktor. This level 1 form was made by a regular of these LoR spotlights since the very beginning, Claudiu-Antoniu Magherusan.

Viktor (Level 2) by Michal Ivan

Viktor's leveled up form would be tackled by Michal Ivan and also very shadowed in this preliminary form.

Wrathful Rider by Michal Ivan

Michal would also make the very top-heavy Wrathful Rider.

Riven (Level 1) by Claudiu-Antoniu Magherusan

Preliminary sketch of one of the Reforge cards and champion to use such mechanic, Riven in her level 1 form.

Riven (Level 2) by Gerald Parel

Riven's leveled up form would be drawn by Gerald Parel instead, and is one of the few concept art pieces in this series to actually use some amount of color.

Mechanized Mimic by Valentin Gloaguen

Valentin Gloaguen provided this concept art of Mechanized Mimic, which was actually the first card revealed to demonstrate the Augment mechanic.

Arrel the Tracker by Monika Palosz

Monika provided this concept art of one of the non-Champion cards in this game that has a proper name, Arrel the Tracker. The staging of shot also appears to be used for Hunt the Weak.

Captain Arrika by Monika Palosz

Preliminary sketch of Captain Arrika by Monika Palosz, whom is another non-Champion card with a proper name. The artwork uses the name "Elite Captor" internally suggesting that at some point in development, it was originally not a named character and the decision to give it a name occurred later.

Blade Squire by Michal Ivan

Michal Ivan made this very early form of Blade Squire. Internally, the artwork is referred to as "Escaped Convict", which changes the tone of the art quite drastically.

Ballistic Bot by Hugo Lam

Michal Ivan provided this concept art of Ballistic Bot. A card that will forever trigger me for saying "a Ignition" instead of "an Ignition".

Nyandroid by Hugo Lam

Here is the concept form of Nyandroid, also by Hugo Lam. It seems that when Nyan Cat got tired of flying, it replaced its Pop-Tart body with a mechanized one and started fighting.

That would be it for this installment of LoR Concept Art Spotlight. Let us know what you think in the comments, and I will be back with another one. In probably 2 sets from now if they keep putting out concept art this slowly. XD
