PlayStation Plus Games for December 2022 – Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Divine Knockout

The Essentials lineup for December is here, and it’s a big one! We have a collection of 3 of the best RPGs of all time, an ambitious open-world game that released in 2021, and a game that releases on the same day as this Essential drop.

The games will release on December 6th and will be available until the end of that month. As a side note, today is your last chance to claim November’s games, so GO GET ‘EM! Without further ado, let’s get into the new stuff!

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (PS4)

This is the big one! This right here is a collection containing 3 of Bioware’s most acclaimed games ever made, plus all the DLC released for them (well, except Pinnacle Station from the first game, whose source code was lost). If you want to explore a unique sci-fi setting and experience a great story across 3 fairly long games, now’s the perfect time.

Open-world, post-apocalyptic, Kung-Fu RPG where you play as an anthropomorphic mutant… racoon? fox? Well, whatever you’re supposed to be, that description basically tells you everything about the game. It’s a bit rough around the edges in the technical department, but the gameplay and world are unique and interesting enough to keep you engaged.

Divine Knockout

When SMITE came out 8 years ago (you may feel old now), it set itself apart from other MOBAs by putting the camera behind the player and forgoing using original characters in favor of gods and creatures from actual mythology.

Divine Knockout, or DKO, does the same thing for platform fighters (Smash Bros, Multiversus). The game comes out on the same day as the Essential drop, and this version includes all the current characters and modes available in the game. We’ll have to see how well the concept does when it releases.
