Who Needs Nerfs When We Can Play Hearthstone Duels? New 12-Win Decks Including Elwynn Boar Mastery

Rating 4.56/5 (9 Votes)

The Duels meta is still in the very first stages of development, and there's plenty to explore. For this reason, many players are testing and finding success with various strategies: while some are trying to include new tools in already established archetypes, some are testing brand new builds and some others are just memeing it up.

As always, here's a fresh collection of 12-win Duels starting decks across different classes. Enjoy!

In case you missed them, we published other collections of 12-win Duels starting decks to take inspiration from!

If you've had 12 win luck in Duels since the expansion launched, be sure to add them to our site via the deckbuilder and share them in the comments below!

Moreover, if you manage to find even more 12-wins decks (maybe even your own!) and you'd like us to showcase them, please contact us on Twitter at @OutOfCardsHS or @Avalon_OOC or through an in-site ping in Private Message.

Continex's 12 Wins Quest Druid

Lost in the Park Quest Druid is an archetype that caught a lot of players' attention during the reveal season but that quickly faded away from the competitive Standard environment. Duels, on the other hand, may be a place for it to thrive, given that Nature's Gifts is a Dire Shapeshift that trades the Armor gain for extra flexibility.

Moreover, Continex was able to pick Elixir of Vigor, a Passive Treasure so strong in the right hands that is set to have just 1% chance to appear during the run! Not only it allows you to never run out of cards, but if you're able to include mostly relevant minions in your deck then the discount effect will really make the difference in the long run.

Wipe's 12 Wins Divine Shield Paladin

The usual Divine Shield Paladin with a handful of strong standalone Legendary cards on top of it. The main (and only, to be honest) difference is Highlord Fordragon, which synergizes insanely well with the already high amount of Divine Shield units you carry and that you're able to keep bringing back thanks to From Golden Light. This is what Wipe tweeted after hitting 12 wins with the deck.

Quote From Wipe

Easiest 12-0 run I've had. Also the first time I've made someone concede on turn 1 after Bag of Coins into double Overlord Runthak.

CookieMawnster's 12 Wins Boar Priest

When I was looking for Duels list around the internet I bumped into a list with the word "boar" on it, and I couldn't possibly believe it: someone was able to hit 12 wins with Elwynn Boar in their deck. And not just there with no synergy: CookieMawnster literally built their deck around that unit! Completely. Speechless. And relatively proud.

For all the other Duels folks, now you have no excuses to not complete the "That Which Has No Life" achievement.

Iorin_1442's 12 Wins Aggro Weapon Rogue

This deck started popping up right after United in Stormwind's release, benefitting from the addition of Oops, All Spells!, insane wherever you have lots of cycle and burst damage - and Rogue ticks off both requirements.

Unfortunately for us, the Signature Treasure used in this run was not shown by iorin, but I personally met the exact same deck during a run of mine, and it was using Ace in the Hole in order to replicate all the direct damage/weapon buff cards.

Starseeker's 12 Wins Quest Shaman

People have been asking about how to build Duels Quest Shaman, and this is what a starting deck with 12 wins potential looks like.

As well as its Standard iteration, this archetype's goal and functionality are pretty simple: you play cheap Overload cards as fast as possible, together with card draw and tools that generate even more Overload cards (Guidance in particular is very efficient).

Pick any card bucked and treasure that has synergy with spells (Bag of Stuffing) and you should be good to go.

Passive Treasures Suggested

Avalon 12 Wins C'thun Warrior

It appears that Avalon isn't just good for talk: he's actually able to achieve decent results from time to time. Jokes apart, I crafted Raid the Docks specifically for Duels and I kept jamming it until I was able to hit a 10-3 and then a 12-2 back to back. The archetype is very reliant on the Passive Treasures you're being offered, thriving in Battlecry synergy and mana cheating mechanics.

I actually wrote a rather in-depth guide about the deck, so for any specific request you should check it out!
