What Are You Playing? - Stellar September 2026

It's already freaking September.

I'm still playing Clickbait Tycoon. Pretty fun incremental clicker game. I wonder who made it, hint hint.

My Steam backlog continues to grow, and it's going to keep growing forever and ever. But I am slowly working my way through all of the motorcycle racing games I own before I inevitably need to buy others.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks was announced. It looks shit. This video from Marcel Vos basically explains it all, and it looks like a pile of crap.

Every attempt at bringing the series back, minus RCT Classic, has been a shitstorm.

If you want to play a game that's "RCT, but modern", just play Parkitect instead. That game perfectly captures the vibe of being like the old RCT games but with some little modernizations. It's great.

  • August was not filled with a lot of gaming for myself, though not mad about that!

    I finished Path of Exile 2, or at least, what I wanted to do with POE2. I'm looking forward to the 0.5.5 drop this week which is adding in some great changes and I can climb right back up. I never did finish my mega essay on 0.5.0, I should really push to get it out before Friday.

    I logged into World of Warcraft and then logged out of World of Warcraft. I'm very curious whats going to go down at BlizzCon for it with it having 2 what's next panels on day 1; It's definitely Classic+ (Camelot) and I'm kinda so down for that.

    I redownloaded GTA5 and started a fresh run through the campaign. The GTA6 trailer got me so hyped for November I had to jump in to GTA5 again. It's amazing how good that game still is to this day and the improvements in the enhanced edition are nice.

    Played some Runescape Dragonwilds and I am looking forward to the Sept 15th 1.0 drop for it.

    Now, my actual plans for September? Too many.

    • Path of Exile 2 on September 4 is where my heart is.

    • Valheim 1.0 is dropping September 9... I'd love to play but I don't think I'll have a chance.

    • Dragonwilds on September 15 is hopefully going to be played this month. My duo has been quite busy though so I have no idea if he'll have time immediately. He said he was going to crossplay with me so he could sit on his couch with game pass. We'll see how that one goes lol.

    • I'd like to continue my GTA5 campaign.

    • I know Blizzard is going to get me to login to WoW for some reason after BlizzCon or during BlizzCon. So that's probably on the list too.

    • Minecraft Dungeons II at the end of the month is a maybe. The first one was a ton of fun!

    I also want to dive into Mario Kart 8 with the new update to go and get some online play in. It's been a while. I haven't really had a solid play session since a break-up so not sure if I want to hit that yet.

    This month is going to be absolutely mental though and I don't expect to play half the games on this list. I'll be lucky to complete the Path of Exile 2 campaign and run some maps. There is just way too much going on and while I love being busy, sometimes you just want to be a potato and play some games.

  • Here's a fun little question for you. Go through your Steam library and see what games you have every achievement for. Do you have one for every letter of the alphabet?

    Here's a fun project I worked on to give that answer a bit of flair. In my library, I have the following:

    As any Steam user does, this also comes with a shitload of games in my backlog, and maybe I'll be able to clear (almost) all of the letters this way.

  • WARDOGS has been enjoyable. I've played a handful of matches and it's very well designed. The games are so long, not a bad thing, it just sucks that if you want to play more than 1 its a huge time commitment haha.

  • As part of the Crash 30th anniversary deal, I picked up the Lucky 7 bundle on Steam, which contained the Crash N Sane Trilogy, Crash 4, and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

    I already own all 4 games on PS4, but I don't have my PS4 with me. I also have Crash 4 on BattleNet, but that version also lacks achievements.

    It feels really nice to be playing the N Sane Trilogy again (or even just any version of the original Crash games). They are games that truly stick with you forever and have meant a lot to me for nearly my entire life.

    I also downloaded a thing that made it so that the N. Sane Trilogy also uses the original PS1 soundtrack. It's really dumb that I need to install a mod for a feature that has no excuse to not be in the base game, but at least it's possible to do it though. Feels so great to be hearing the original music (especially since some songs like the sewer levels in Crash 2 were utterly eviscerated in the new soundtrack), and as someone with not much modding knowledge, at least it was easy to get going. Now, the real kick in the nuts is the fact that the Spyro trilogy and CTR Nitro Fueled does have the ability to change soundtracks by default, and Crash 4 also has the original PS1 music in the flashback tapes, so it's not like licensing got in the way of it. There's really no reason that the N. Sane Trilogy shouldn't have had that feature.

    Rant over. I'm extremely happy to be playing Crash again. It's a fantastic remaster of three of the best platformers ever made, and you should buy it if you don't have it already.

  • Hey! I am back from the dead. Had some stuff happening IRL so I was not around.

    This month I have started Sleeping Dogs Definitive edition and Finished Triangle Strategy. All amazing games. I started Librarian too and really enjoy getting those books on their shelf little by little

    Also Black Flag Resync is still there waiting for a bug to be fixed, so I can finish the quest I am stuck at. loved the game.

    I just saw Clickbait tycoon is a thing! I will probably check it out next month as I entered a Mortage for an apartment and this month will be hard with some extra expenses... Edit. Trying the demo today
