Is there any way to see how much progress the Merc has? If you click on the xp bar the Merc gets the XP and the training stops and starts again after a 20 second delay. Is there any possibility to see the progress in advance without stopping? On the other hand: I had the  xp bar im the TG filled by like 10 % before I clicked it. What is the percentage about? Time from max time? 

I tried to switch the trained Merc. Dragging a new one in results in "no free slots" message, but I couldn't dragg the training Merc back either. I had to stop it by clicking thr bar and could remove him during the delay. Is this the only way to do it?

Bug: you can select Mercs you don't own but are able to craft in the TG selection list. Dragging them onto a training slot will result in freezing the game.

Hey fam, I'm creating this thread as a spot for tips, tricks, and comps for tackling a specific PvE bounty. 

If there's a better space for this kind of thing, let me know. 

An example, Lord Banehollow's crew have Holy weakness, so bring your holy damage to finish them off. 

Second example: I'm stuck on Rend Blackhand. What did you do against a boss that can deal 200 damage in one shot? 

First off, I have some complaints, but I do not believe this belongs in the salt thread. Overall, I really enjoy playing Mercenaries, and I want to air my frustrations here, and see if others feel similarly (and maybe have suggestions).

Mercenaries is VERY fun. I love the questing aspect of it, the colorful characters, and the progression of upgrading their abilities and equipment. I recently completed all the bounties on Normal, and am working on Heroic.

The economy is BAD. It is very hard to gain coins for any specific Merc. Plus, I just maxed out my first Merc (Cariel) and am still earning coins for her. A recent bounty gave me THREE coin drops for Cariel, totally useless. Would it be so hard for the game to check for maxed out Mercs before awarding coins?

The task board is fraught with frustration. I had an empty spot, but it still said "the campfire is full" when I encountered the coveted "Mysterious Stranger." I have also caught the game not tracking my accomplishments (needed to Deathblow 75 times as Grommash, but it did not count every time I did it, I checked repeatedly). Finally, whenever I get the "Use Boon: Caster" task, it takes forever to find a board with that Boon on it. I start a bounty, check the map, no Boon: Caster, so I retire and start over. I reroll the board 8-10 times, finding BOTH other Boons alternating, before I finally get the one I need. This has happened to me several times.

And last of all, I have quit entirely on the Fighting Pit. It used to be the best way to earn coins and level up Mercs quickly (bring a mismatched squad with one low level Merc and five level 30's, get matched with an AI and profit). It has been over a week since I faced an AI. Instead, I get matched with overpowered players and get creamed, and that's AFTER waiting 4-6 minutes for a game. It's clear that very few players are playing Mercenaries, or the matchmaking wouldn't take so long.

If you sat through my whole rant, thanks for your patience. I would love to know that other players enjoy Mercenaries as much as I do, and are equally frustrated with its faults. And if so, what can we do about it?

Blizzard have halved the XP gained from PVE for the Rewards Track. Before the new expansion we can gain 168 xp in 30 minutes (without the Pass), now it's 84 xp.
This stealth nerf is so bad that people need to know...

Just wanna know what you feel about the direction Blizzard will take on the next expansion?

will they keep on Adding pirates and murlocs?

should they add demons which actually is a poor archetype? 

i personally think they should add some attackers because caster dominate the game 

i would like to see Grull and Kurtus like type of mercs more often. Specially a human killer.

the fel class should be reinforced and maybe some frost And arcane abilities which are too rare.

Some legendary Mercs at the bottom of the E rank should also find party mates to empower them ( Jaraxxus, Edwin, Thrall)

And I want to see more Dragons : where are Deathwing, Nozdormu, Malygos, Ysera. 

Balance the race is important too me, Beast , troll, undead, Tauren , elfs... stop adding humans and Orcs. 

What are you thought?

So a while ago I got enough coins to craft Baron Geddon, nice! I'm missing a couple of epics and legendaries, but when I opened a pack recently and saw the purple glow I got an alternative portrait for Geddon instead of a new epic. I now that they messed up with the duplicate protection for pre-orders and didn't account for the diamond portraits, but since my crafted Geddon is the base version this shouldn't happen? Or have I missed something?

I’m just missing sneed, Eudora and the other legendary from the last realize that I don’t feel Are essential as I play currently LK/Varden/Tavish + Geddon/Diablo/Cairne.

leveling up : beast team, Vol’Jin/Séline , Ragnaros, Anduin, Jaïna, Grull and Sylvanas In whom I see potential.

i just wonder if you guy think it’s a smart move . I do this essentially because I obtain a massive amount of coins for my already max out Mercenaries ( Antonidas, Tavish, LK, Cairne, Varden and Geddon) 

I play actually between 6800 and 7200 in Asian server. 

I just saw that I can craft Sneed for 100 coins. So I thought "No I won't craft a rare Merc". But than I searched for missing epics and Sneed was shown in the results! I checked on this site and he is marked as epic, too.

So is this a bug in my favor or is the rarity gem incorrect?

Though I can only name 2 mercs that do extra damage based on race, (off the top of my head), being able to prep for the possible trash fights can save some time in a bounty.

there are a couple of databases with the base info for the trash characters, but I can't find any info on which bounties they usually appear on. and they all show the level 1-30 info.

does anyone know what the system is for possible trash fight for a certain bounty?

I am playng the Nature team (Malfurion, Guff, Brukhan) and a couple of times I had mirror matches.

I have level 30 and apparently we had same equipment, but their starting statistics were a few points better than mine.

How they achieved that ?

I know it was mentioned few times before, mercenaries have only race in tags and because of that we aren't sure which character is horde/alliance/neutral.

But to mess it up more, in last patch they added "Pirate" tag, which obviously isn't a race, right? Wrong! I have Mr. Smite and went to run with Lady Anacondra, I picked up +3/10 buff for elves and taurens and it didn't work for Mr. Smite (and humans buff probably doesn't work with Edwin). So Smite and Edwin belongs to mysterious Pirate race and they only look like common races. Blizzard please...

It is clear the pronouns were used so that they could upload all the mercs data in mass. With that in mind, it seems kind of unecessary to do so... especially when you consider people are coming to read about the merc's abilities and not their pronouns.

Pretty great sample size work was done that shows every fight you partake in substantially increases the chance that the mystery node is Mystery Strangers. Sick of 8 potatoes in a row? Start doing at least 3 fights to get to the node. See the number of fights and their chance to proc Mystery Strangers in this reddit thread:

So mercenaries is brand new and everyone is waiting for features and tools. I've found this website to be ahead of the curve in many respects for mercenaries content, but I had a lot of difficulty in writing a guide for a party. I wanted to help others with how to do just that so we can get more community content out there while we wait on features to get cleaned up and finished (thanks to the devs here for what we have already!).

So first thing's first, you need to create a party. This step is straight forward and easy, you just go to Party Builder link which is easily found on the mercenaries home page or drop-down menus. Some filters here would be nice but I assume that's a feature in the works. Find your mercenaries for your party and click on them, and then click on the equipment for your build, and that adds that mercenary to your party. The rest of the party basics are straight forward (name, mode, tags etc.)

Once your party is saved, it will get a chronological numerical unique ID and a link like this:

You can always find this party by visiting your profile page for the site. I make mention of the link above because it's important when we want to write and then update a guide, but we lack features to make that easy. When at first there is no guide, you do get a prompt to write one, and the link is prepended with "edit-guide/" like this:

You need to save this link or know how to edit your original party link in order to update your guide once it's written, because the first time you save content to the Guide section of your party, the useful "create a guide" link goes away forever. I'm quite sure a nifty "Edit Guide" button will be added and prominently displayed in the future, but for now, subsequent edits to your guide require you to know how to get there without a link given to you.

Okay so now we know how to edit our guide (and edit it again and again as needed), let's talk about how to go about writing a guide. One thing I love about this site is the way links and objects are set up, such as for Mercenaries and Cards. Just like for Thrall and his ability For The Horde 1 or his equipment Doomhammer {0}. 

What makes this a little bit difficult for us though is that the parent mercenary link:

Lists out all of their abilities and equipment at level 1. If we're writing a guide we obviously are most likely wanting to link to the max level of the ability, or maybe in certain cases actually recommend a lower level of an ability (ex. King Krush might want rank 4 or lower Apex Predator 4 to be slower than other abilities so you can ensure use of the Deathblow). All abilities and equipment are classified here as cards. All ranks of each ability get their own card link. So there are two ways you can link different ability ranks - finding the exact card ID or typing in the name, like this:

You should be able to copy-paste the ability name with its rank from the top-level mercenary sheet inside the card tags, but just in case, you can find the card ID by going to the Cards search link and searching for the ability name there. Here you can find all the ranks for the ability (or equipment) and get the direct link to it and in the link is the card ID. Also in case you want it handy, I've found that the Mercenary search link isn't always intuitive to get to.

And that's basically what I wanted to get out there. How to edit your guide after you initially save one, and how to link out to different ranks of abilities which I found cumbersome. From there of course you would create your guide as you see fit. I hope this is helpful and I hope we'll get feature updates that make this guide unnecessary (thanks again to the devs for this amazing resource).

Hey, is there somewhere the task list? My best Mercs have not more than Task 5, but I guess after T3 it's the same for everyone?

I'm looking for something like:

T1-3 use individual Merc skills

T4 Deal 150 damage

T5 Bounty at Lvl30

T6 ...

"choose an enemy to take CRITICAL DAMAGE for all Roles this turn. Deal 4 damage to them"

So, Mysterious Stranger on Air Elemental was gutted. While it is sad, and while you can argue about the priorities Blizzard have (let's face it, we all know what they are, Bobby "Goblinlord" Kotick needs a new 150M$ bonus check), it doesn't change the fact the Random Event Tile (RET for short) is still very shallow in terms of gameplay. Getting one of 4 options (Potato, Portal, Sabotage and Stranger) is boring and feels cheap. So what can we do about it? Here's my suggestions:

1. Remove Stranger altogether (I have a different approach for task collecting);
2. Add a lot of events (both good and bad), allowing for more variety of gameplay throughout the map and, more importantly, allowing for more than one RET on the map.

So, what are the events I'm suggesting?

1. Keep the Hot Potato. It's a genuinely interesting gimmick, it only falls into sore eyes because we want the Stranger;
2. Keep the Portal, but add the option to walk into it or not;
3. Keep the Sabotage, even if it's boring and has almost no gameplay impact [it remains mostly as a placeholder for more interesting detrimental effects, with a smaller chance than other events];
4. Boons become RETs. You won't know where they are on the map anymore;
5. Spirit Healer can be found on RETs;
6. AMBUSH!!! -> You face a team of 6 Mercs all at once who were payed to stop you on your tracks. But it turns out, those mercs were payed partly in advance, and they were payed with up to 25 coins for a random epic/legendary merc (rarity and number of coins depending on the bounty you're in);
7. Bananas! -> King Mukla passed by here and forgot some bananas. Your team picks them up and eats them, granting a +X/+X buff (again, depending on the bounty);
8. Sidequest! -> Send one of your mercs alone on a sidequest, removing him temporarily from your team. He promises he'll come back to you before the final boss and he returns with a special treasure (like the ones you gain when you face elite battles), or he finds a new task for him (if you didn't finish all his tasks. If you did, he returns with a couple of merc coins, with a higher chance of those coins being for him) [both the task and the amount of coins he finds also depend on the bounty and you find less coins than the AMBUSH!!! event];
9. Mud Pit! -> Oh great, now you're all muddy. And look at the dirt on our treasures! We have to clean them up. You won't be able to use your treasures next battle;
10. Bob! -> "Hey there, friend, glad to see you. Here's a treasure to make sure your travels are safe". You gain a random treasure for a random merc (you don't even choose 1 of 3);
11. Wrong turn! -> You can only find this in the middle of the map. It changes your pathing, nothing too special [it's also mostly a placeholder, low chance to get it on the event pool].

These are just some ideas, there could easily be more of them, both beneficial and detrimental. These ideas also represent pathings with more than just 1 RET (for example, I could easily see bounties from Heroic Blackrock Mountain with 5 RETs, especially when you consider that Boons would stop showing up as Boons themselves [some tiles would still be Spirit Healers, you just also have a chance of finding them in a RET]).

Now, regarding the Mysterious Stranger, my answer is actually simple. You ALWAYS find one after completing a bounty. However, to avoid abusing early level bounties, the level of your task depends on your bounty.

• Barrens -> Up to Task 2 (the first 3 bounties), Task 3 (the next 3 bounties), Task 4 (the last 3 bounties);
• Barrens Heroic -> Up to Task 3 (the first 3 bounties), Task 4 (the next 3 bounties), Task 5 (the last 3 bounties);
• Felwood -> Up to Task 8 (the first 3 bounties), Task 9 (the last 3 bounties);
• Felwood Heroic -> Up to Task 9 (the first 3 bounties), Task 10 (the last 3 bounties);
• Winterspring -> Up to Task 14 (the first 3 bounties), Task 15 (the last 3 bounties);
• Winterspring Heroic -> Up to Task 15 (the first 3 bounties), Task 16 (the last 3 bounties);
• Blackrock Mountain -> Up to Task 17 (the first 3 bounties), Task 18 (the last 3 bounties);
• Blackrock Mountain Heroic -> Up to Task 18 (all bounties).

These are my suggestions for events to spice up bounty runs. What do you guys think of them? Guaranteeing Mysterious Stranger as an extra reward severely diminishes frustration with grinding and the increased amount of events makes each bounty more unique and engaging. EDIT: Also, throw in more ideas if you have them, maybe we could actually see some of them in-game.

PS: Turns out it's hard to think of detrimental effects without simply gutting your team. I feel only Mud Pit! really worked as a one and done detrimental effect (Sabotage and Wrong Turn! feel very meh), with the more extreme ones (AMBUSH!!! putting you in a 6vs3 fight and Sidequest! temporarily disabling a merc [maybe you can choose which one, maybe not]) compensating the detrimental effect with a reward. I feel that is a way detrimental effects can be more engaging.

Today I broke and purchased the Mercenaries Welcome Bundle. One pack contained an alternate portrait for Brightwing (who I already had) instead of one of the many epic Mercs I do not have. WTF? Aren't you only supposed to get alternate portraits if you already own all the Mercs of that specific rarity? I'm feeling pretty cheesed off here.

When an ability such as Anduin's Holy Word: Salvation has wording that says "Your humans take two less damage this turn" it help mitigate critical damage?

What I mean is this: Say an ability does 10 damage and 20 critical damage.

Does Anduin's damage reduction apply this like:

(Ability Damage * Critical Damage) - Damage Reduction = Total Damage

(10 * 2) - 2 = 18 damage

or like this:

(Ability Damage - Damage Reduction) * Critical Damage = Total Damage

(10 - 2) * 2 = 16 damage

I have the quest to defeat 12 Furbolgs (yes, I'm still not through PvE). But where are they? I'm currently at 1/12 which was the boss from Stage 1. In all other stages there are only Owlbeasts but no Furbolgs (which I googled should be bears). Am I supposed to to the first boss 12 times? Or are they all in the last stage?

Btw: any tipps for Icehowl? Just tried it once but failed.
