A nice swarm tool for paladins. I imagine any aggro deck that wants to go wide will use this. Even if you only get 3, it is only slightly worse than Mustard for Battle.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
I refuse to Corrupt this card. Our dudes work so hard every game, and they need a break. I refuse to ruin their good time!
This ain't no place for a hero
If odd paladin takes off again, I think that this might see play as a second Muster for Battle. The problem arises in odd paladin that 5 (or 7 and 9) cost cards are needed to corrupt this, making it a lot more awkward to play.
Non-odd paladin decks with a silver hand recruit theme tend not be very strong compared to odd paladin, and I don't think that this is enough to change that, especially when cards like Air Raid have failed to make a big impact in aggressive decks.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Mostly a slightly worse Muster for Battle when played at 3 mana, but it's a pure upgrade when played later, because then it's a cheaper Stand Against Darkness, which funnely enough is a card from the Whispers of the old gods expansion. The reason that's funny is because we got a better reprint of Stand Against Darkness in a new old god related expansion... lol.
In standard: Good slot in libram Pure Paladin, as this gives more buff targets. Good card in my opinion.
In Wild: OH NO IT'S ODD COSTED! ODD Paladin will use this card 1000%. Also this will certainly see play in some kinda token/dude paladin, with all the Silver Hand Recruit synergy, like Level Up!. This card seems better than i first saw it during the reveal stream.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
You'd probably need to Corrupt it to make it worthwhile in most situations, but that probably won't be too difficult.
Odd Paladin will definitely love this, I'll tell you that much. Otherwise though, I'm not so sure.
Love the art, Odd paladin might like this. Problem with Corrupt cards looks like they might be "dead" cards in hand, since you need to hold em to upgrade em. They can be played without Corrupted effect for average value for the cost, but most of the time you really want to upgrade them and they just gonna lay in your hand. I like the mechanic, but i wonder if it might flop, at least on some designs.

It might see some play in Odd Paladin but it might not make the cut because setting up tempo plays with corrupt cards in even and odd decks seems really awkward. Maybe this will see play in standard because this indicates they are printing new dude synergy cards. It's also good with Sword of Justice and Righteous Cause. You instantly get 5 2/2 dudes. We might see a token paladin deck. It's quite decent.

Oh boy. Odd Paladin is already Tier 1/2 in Wild, I've been playing it a lot. And this is NUTS. More dudes and potentially even more. Muster for Battle is already one of the best cards in there, and it's not because of the weapon.
Put your faith in the Light!
odd pally would play this fo the 3mana summon 3recruits,wiht offchance it summons 5 sometimes.
Muster for battle is one of best cards they have and biggest reason its played is the 3recruits for 3mana.
FOr odd pally if this summon 5 great a nice bonus, cause they will use it for the base spell which is already really good for that deck.
Odd pally is gonna love it for sure and for them the corrupt effect is just an occasional bonus, they will run it for the base version is good for the deck if its corurpt thats a nice bonus but they wont run it plannign to get ti corrupted
the corrupt is never gonan be why odd pally plays and wont plan on egtting it ccorrupted but if does its a nice bonus, if not its still why they put in their deck.
Coin out a 4-cost card on turn 3, then play this on turn 4 to summon 5 guys.
Or, play a 4-cost in curve, then summon 5 dudes and hit the button for another one next turn.
Interesting, I don't really see a place for it in current libram builds (wich cards would you cut?) but could be really strong in swarm decks.
Another story completely in wild!
If there's some SHR synergy this might be really impactful, will see if paladin gets another SHR card this expansion.
Im really dubious whether paladin will ever play this in standard. Air Raid functions 1 turn earlier with 1 less dude, and you can do it again. Plus, this card cant be naturally played on 3 for full value, and the third mana slot is taken by Salhet's Pride and Goody Two-Shields. You would also need to play something more than 3 mana to corrupt it, and with the librams being so handy the only thing that fits is Aldor Truthseeker
My guess is that team5 will introduce other ways to buff dudes, but make it hard to fit into libram paladin. In this case, I still think air raid is better, and I also think that nothing but the most broken synergies will ever dethrone librams from paladin until it all rotates away.
The main question is if we are going to see some Silver Hand buffs again in Standard. This can be very strong in Wild with Quartermaster and so on.

Hi, Zyella, i see you are relatively new here, that is awesome! I would advise using Quote instead of Reply when replying in a forum thread in general, it will quote the msg you are replying to (as i just did) for more coherent train of thought and other ppl can follow the discussion as well :) Cheers!

Will do in future then :
I freakin' love Silver hand recruit tools for Paladin. Can't wait to see what else Paladin gets this expansion to play off of and with this

For some reason I read this a quest.
5/5 card, good in standard or wild.
In Odd Paladin, this could be used. But you would need to run Stand Against Darkness or something similar to make it really worth it. It is situational, but in the current standard meta, this in Pure Paladin could easily find a home with the cost of the librams.
Righteous Cause + Day at the Faire
Autocomplete
I though that.
Turn 5: any 5 mana card
Turn 6: sidequest+this for 5 2/2 and buff your other minions.
Swarm pally is not a thing nowadays, but that card can help.
By The Holy Light!
dont need stand against darkness. Just loatheb, quartermaster(which got 2 off), fungalmancer or that faceless rusher that transforms aminion.
Or maybe they run 1 vinecleaver or worst case Baku.
point is, you need to be able to run and effectively fire off a 5+ mana card to trigger the Corrupt on this card. Odd Paladin has them, but not in mass.
and if odd pally runs it it becasue the Base version of 3recruit summons and the corrupt is an occasiona bonus
Pretty solid combo.
The only disadvantage is comes pretty late so your opponent has more time to counter.
It's not terrible, and with the low mana cost, you're bound to play it corrupted. Unfortunately though, we are still playing it on Turn 5 minimum, guess the extra 2 mana be used for something, even HP
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Kinda weak. Not sure if even dude support is printed this is good enough.

As a pure 3 drop card, it faces stiff competition from Goody Two-Shields. The corrupted version... still probably less impactful than Goody Two-Shields on a vacuum. Now, if dude Paladin makes a comeback, and if that comeback is in the form of a midrange-ish deck, this card can see reasonable play.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
I dont think this is good enough as is, but I suspect there to be some swarm/silver hand support for Pally, so we'll see.
I see Muster for Battle as a much better option than this. On turn 3 the power difference is very clear, if Odd Paladin skips going wide on turn 3 to greed for more Silver Hand Recruits, I welcome that decision with open arms regardless which deck I'm playing. Especially since they don't run 4-Cost cards, and will have to wait all the way to 5 to Corrupt it. I doubt this will make into the lists.
Odd Paladin certainly doesn't need this card, it's a powerful list as is and Muster for Battle is far superior on turn 3. Corrupting the card would require playing something along the lines of Loatheb, Quartermaster, or Leeroy Jenkins, all of which come down on power turns where, beyond that point, a card like this wouldn't be needed. The density of cards worth 5-mana or higher in the deck is also rather low, so Corrupting this card would be a difficult task as is.
Whether or not this card works in Standard in the coming months depends on how much Silver Hand support they introduce THIS expansion, and I'm not particularly optimistic there. I'm not even certain a card like this would be that good in those lists; 3-mana for 3/3 in stats is underwhelming, and Corrupting it just to play this card later off-curve doesn't seem particularly enticing either. Notably, though, it works well with the new Balloon Merchant on- and off- curve, so we'll just have to wait and see.
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich!
good meme
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
a force to be reckoned with. That legendary and the other guy make this a 2/3 divine stampede of death if used in the right order I fear this card with every bit of my body
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Trash card, there are better ways to generate Silver Hand Recruits in Wild.
Dude Paladin will thrive this expansion! This is essentially Stand Against Darkness, but has way more support this time around.
Another dude paladin support card. It helps to have one who floods the board, and even playing this on curve, following with balloon merchant is just pretty strong. Corrupted is alright as well.
"Some inspirational quote from some famous person" - Some famous person
Uninteresting and doesn't seem fun at all to play AS or AGAINST
All hail the banshee queen.
The corrupt benefit impact falls off a cliff if you can't play the corrupted version as early as possible. Sure, having a wide SHR board is handy for board buff follow ups, but I don't think there is enough, with the full set revealed, to support a SHR deck.
For glory, honor, and gold!
I don't think this makes it in Odd Paladin -- you want to go fast and this isn't coming on board until 6.
It looks like they got a good amount of support for it.
Sees play in Odd Paladin, if only for the board filling, but does standard run 4+ cost cards to put this in and yet care about Silver Hands? A bit shaky.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
I this what is supposed to go along with the legendary that gives your Silverhand recruits a divine shield? I still think Paladin is too consistent with librams for much else to see play now
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
The dream is to play Lothraxion, then this. Before Corrupt, it's a worse Muster for Battle and after it's a better Stand Against Darkness so the card as a whole is somewhere between that? Obviously will be in Dude Paladin, if for no other reason than Dude Paladin has very few ways to summon a lot of SHRs otherwise. Dude Paladin will be...eh.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Paladin got a lot of Silver Hand support this set, so I would not be surprised to see this card a lot. Makes me want to start brewing full Silver Hand nonsense in Wild, too.
Welcome to the site!
Not a bad card, but nothing too amazing either. Middle of the pack, I guess
