Out of Cards Site Rules and Guidelines
Welcome to the rules and guidelines of Out of Cards.
All members of the site are governed by these rules and staff will use them to decide whether or not you are allowed to stay on the site. We are a fairly relaxed community but at the same time we don't want to deal with nonsense so some rules are required.
If at any point in time you require clarification for a rule, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of staff.
We reserve the right to update these rules at any time. It is your duty as a member of the Out of Cards community to stay up to date on our rules and guidelines. We also reserve the right to apply any rules we desire that are not listed here.
1) All Written Communication on the Site Must be in English
You may not write in a language other than English on the site. You are not expected to use perfect English, but as an English-focused website, we require everyone use the language to communicate.
For non-native speakers, you can use this as an opportunity to better your English skills.
2) No Advertising
You may not advertise websites or businesses without contacting the administration of Out of Cards first unless a specific forum allows it.
2.1) Spam
We do not allow spam of any kind on Out of Cards.
2.2) Referral Links
You may not use referral links outside of designated threads without prior approval of the administration.
2.3) Bumping Threads
You may not "bump" a thread by leaving a reply to it that contains nothing important.
The original poster of a thread, or "OP", may leave a reply if they add significant content to their original post provided they let everyone know what they updated with it.
2.4) YouTube Videos
YouTube videos are generally allowed on the website and we do not require prior contact to allow you to post them. They must be relevant to the content they are being posted under.
3) Votes - Upvotes, Downvotes, and Ratings
We taking voting on the site quite seriously. We have no problems closing accounts that are in violation of any of our voting policies without prior warning.
3.1) Vote Manipulation
Under no circumstance will you use multiple accounts, or ask other users, to increase or decrease votes on any piece of content on the website.
3.2) Vote Harassment
You will not target negative votes towards any one user on the site. It is okay to not agree with someone but it is not okay to hold that against them.
You will also not ask other users to downvote a specific member of the site.
3.3) Vote Begging
We do not allow you to beg for votes on written content without the prior consent of the administration. This includes, but is not limited to, providing "unlock goals" for written content (such as a Deck Guide).
We are unable to hold community members accountable when they don't reach "unlock goals" so we're banning the practice outright.
4) Forbidden Topics
There are several topics you may not discuss at all on Out of Cards.
4.1) Cheats and Hacks
You may not post any cheats and hacks for games.
In-game exploits are not covered by this and are generally allowed to be discussed though we may opt to delete threads if they are harmful to the game.
4.2) Account Selling, Trading, and Services
You may not post game accounts for sale, trade, or offer services where you take control of another player's account.
These are generally banned by all game providers and as such they are banned here too.
4.3) Pornography
This shouldn't even need to be said. No porn whether it is real or fake.
4.4) Illegal Content
Content that is generally considered illegal should not be posted on Out of Cards. Don't be dumb.
4.5) Personal Information
You may not post personal information about yourself or anyone else. This includes real names, email addresses, home or work addresses, and more. Don't be dumb.
4.6) Politics
We do not allow political discussion. There are many other places to discuss politics, a gaming-driven website is not one of them. Keep your beliefs to yourself.
4.7) Religion
We do not allow religious discussion. Much like political discussion, a gaming website is not the right place for it.
