There's a solid chance that this backfires somehow, so I doubt it will see any non-memeing play.

    Disrruption cards are really good.

And that one costs just 1 mana.

Kinda bad... while it disrupts it doesn't like fully disrupt, that random other spell might still benefit opponent....

Does it still target the same thing? I would think it has random targets like any other random spell. I am not sure if this will see play or not since, while it does disrupt your opponents plan, it also makes chaos happen. And chaos is really hard to utilize. It's an okay card, but I don't see it being played a whole lot.

Unless there's a real benefit to playing secrets in paladin, this will never see play. And even then I still don't think it'll ever see play.

Its only niche is to deny corrupt spell value from your opponent, and cthun pieces. But any good player would've spotted that from miles away anyway. In any case, why would any person put this in their deck competitively is an exclamation worthy of the card's name.

Alright, so first of all: I LOVE THAT NAME! Such a good spin on "oh my god".

Second of all: IMPOSSIBLE. THE Yogg-Saron, Hope's End trowback card (just like how Jewel of N'Zoth is a trowback to N'Zoth, the Corruptor) is for PALADIN?!? NOT for MAGE? What blasphemy is this? 1 star design. (Just joking.)

Okay so paladin secrets often don't see that much play, but i feel like this one might actually see play. This can prevent your board from getting cleared by something like Holy Nova, but it's still a random effect. So it could "Counterspell" a Holy Nova, and turn it into a Hellfire. (i'm guessing the random spell is from ANY class btw. Wouldn't make sense otherwise, considering it's our lord and savior Yogg-saron.)

Standard: Might see play in this new Dude paladin deck, and maybe their pushing secret paladin again? Secret paladin is still horrible though.

Wild: I was considering if it fits in ODD Paladin, but i think not. They do run secrets like Avenge, because it gives buffs. But i don't think it wants this kinda effect. But i do guess some of them will experiment with it at the very least. Oh My Yogg! will see play in some kind of secret paladin though. That deck might not be that good, but it might be fun to play.

RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

Paladin Counterspell. If by some magic secret paladin becomes popular, I think that this might see some play. The fact that it randomises the target even if it turns a removal spell into another removal spell might be enough to try this effect.

This post is discussing the wild format.

That's a tricky one to evaluate.  Due to its sheer variance, I think we'll have to see it in practice before any definitive judgements can be made.

it'll be a great way to counter other paladins librams, but you'd probably prefer your opponent not to cast anything.

That said, since most spells in a deck are designed to help win them the game, so disrupting a board clear my be game winning.

I wonder if this could be a soft counter for c'thun decks - since you need to cast the broken pieces to assemble C'thun the Broken?

A Counterspell for Paladin with some Misdirection added in there as well. This has a chance to horribly backfire, but it also has a chance for your opponent to waste everything if they end up with, say, a damage spell that ends up hitting one of their own things. There is the potential for legitimate gameplay applications here, although your opponent can still play around it the same way they can with Counterspell.

I want to say that it's pretty funny if the opponent has lethal but plays their Coin first and it gives you Blur.

Ignore me, just a Hunter main passing by.

Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.

    Best. Secret. Ever.

The ability to inflict bless others with the rapture of Yogg is sure to be one of life's greatest joys!

Also, the chances of a so-called backfire are minimal. Your opponent was already doing something that would benefit them. At worst, this will turn it into something about as bad for you as the opponent was about to do anyway. It's not likely to actually become worse for you, but it could become much, much better.

That would make your opponent immune and do nothing to disrupt lethal unless they actually needed the mana from Coin.

This is less of a meme than it appears.  Like it could actually be pretty strong.  Turning an on curve aoe into something thats not aoe can be game winning for aggro.  Sure it can still hit a different aoe or removal and be good, but if you have control of the board then you also might get your board buffed or they just whiff.  I feel like more often than not the spell they end up hitting will be better than what they wanted to play.

There isn't really an aggro paladin right now and I kind of doubt pure or libram paladin wants this.

You'll have to be careful about turning their coin into something good though.  lol at coin turning into innervate.

but in wild does it protect your minions more than Never Surrender!? which sees some play in odd pally, that remains to be seen.  from what I know right now this seems like it would have more potential in wild where there are more decks that might want to play it and the power and effect of individual spells is much stronger.

Could be useful if you are able to magically know what your opponent is going to play the next turn.

Agree with the assessment that this is a Paladin's version of a Counterspell. Weaker but cheaper.

My first thought is as board clear protection for a aggro paladin. For 1 mana, easy to squeeze this in any turn even the early ones.

Rng counterspell  it's probably better they would cast ANY OTHER SPELL rather than their spell on their intended target.

It can back fire but it casts the spell of the same mana cost so how bad can it be really? there are so many garbage tier spells..

Forcing your opponent to cast a random spell instead of the one they meant to cast is ALWAYS good.

You basically use this new secret to protect your board.

Comparable with Never Surrender! in terms of how you use it.

I have a feeling this type of card will be bonkers against a certain type of deck. Like what would happen if a rogue player plays a piece of C'Thun, the Shattered and the spell gets transformed into something else? Would that break C'Thun completely?

Yes, your gameplan goes to the trash.

It's the same as when a mage Counterspell your piece. You need to play around and test the secret with others spells.

From my experience with that Shaman totem that randomly cast spells, most spells are beneficial, which makes this a pretty poor secret.

This card itself is pretty strong. The ability to delay a game plan (for example, by turning a Soul Shear into a Frostbolt and deny Soul Fragments) is always appreciated, especially for 1 mana. However, one thing that slows this card's usability is the fact that all other Paladin secrets are mediocre at best right now.

Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)

Bring on the randos! Honestly, I think this is decent. Sometimes it will do something better than what they were already going to do, but I'm guessing more often than not it will do something worse, plus you stopped them from doing what they wanted.

They said every old god would get an "artifact" what's the artifact in this case? I dind't see any other card refering to yogg specifically this is the weird one out of the 4 "artifact" cards also the other artifacts are high cost (7,8,8) foo c'thun, N'zoth  and Ysheraj respectably but yogg doesn't have one..

I think this is great since it disrupts cards that can screw you over or it could roll a mask of C'thun and kill you but hey that's only a what 1/100 chance? So likewise I will always die that way when playing this card

This is definitely one of the better Paladin secrets out there, acting as a 1 mana Counterspell most of the time. The issue some of the power behind secrets is the uncertainty your opponent has when multiple secrets exist in the deck. The only exception to this is Mage, in which the defensive secrets don't require a full secret package due to their standalone effect. Paladin doesn't have a great secret package in standard currently, it's mainly Rise of Shadows cards like Commander Rhyssa, Mysterious Blade, and Sunreaver Spy, all of which will rotate out soon. Once Paladin gets substantial secret support in standard, this will see play.

Counterspell but not quite?  Honestly, I think this could be pretty good for mid-cost spells because the negative outcomes could be a lot better than big cost spells, which are almost always positive, or small cost, when its pretty insignificant.

I initially rated this card highly in the hopes that there would be more secret support for Paladin. Now that we have the whole list, I don't see that support. I'll try some nonsense in casual with it, but don't expect it to be widely played.

Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.

Could be funny. Probably at its best in an aggressive Paladin deck that wants to deny their opponent's board-clear for a turn. Not much else this does, other than be annoying.

Ugh... I love the effect, but do I really want to run a Paladin Secret in the main deck? Would it be enough to just occasionally get this from Snack Run or Wandmaker or something?
