Legends of Runeterra has been nominated in The Game Awards!
Our favourite free-to-play friendly card slinger is up for the title of "Best Mobile Game" and it needs our help to secure the win!
- Head on over to The Game Awards site to see all the nominees.
- Login with Twitter, Facebook, or Google to participate in voting.
- Find the "Best Mobile Game" category and vote for Legends of Runeterra.
As you can see, we're up in a very difficult category with the continued popularity of games like Among Us, and the recently launched and highly successful Genshin Impact. The winners will end up being selected through a blended vote (90% jury, 10% public fan voting) so any bit of extra push from us can help Runeterra.
The Game Awards show takes place on December 10 at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT / 12 am CET.
What Is The Game Awards?
The Game Awards is a yearly award show that celebrates the best in gaming and it all started back in 2014.
Quote From The Game Awards THE GAME AWARDS RECOGNIZES AND UPHOLDS CREATIVE AND TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE IN THE GLOBAL VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY.
We bring together a diverse group of game developers, game players, and notable names from popular culture to celebrate and advance gaming’s position as the most immersive, challenging and inspiring form of entertainment. We strive to recognize those who improve the wellbeing of the community and elevate voices that represent the future of the medium.
THE GAME AWARDS WAS FOUNDED IN 2014 BY MEDIA ENTREPRENEUR GEOFF KEIGHLEY, WHO ALSO HOSTS AND PRODUCES THE PROGRAM.
Over the past two decades, Keighley has served as a journalist, host, and producer of video game programming across multiple platforms, including print, television and digital.
Keighley is best known for his work with Entertainment Weekly, Spike TV, G4, and YouTube, as well as his landmark series of behind the scenes game development stories known as “The Final Hours.” Geoff also currently produces gamescom’s “Opening Night Live” program.

HOW ARE NOMINEES SELECTED FOR THE GAME AWARDS?Nominees for most categories of The Game Awards are chosen by an international jury of over 95 global media and influencer outlets, selected for their history of critical evaluation of video games. The full list of outlets is available here.
Specialized juries also convene for other categories including esports and accessibility.
Each voting outlet completes a confidential, unranked ballot based on the collective and diverse opinion of its entire editorial staff, listing out its top five choices in each category.
Ballots are tabulated, and the five games that appear on the most ballots are put forth as nominees. In the event of a tie, six (or more) nominees will be announced in a category.
Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley is not a member of the jury and does not vote on the nominees or winners.
WHY DO YOU USE THIS JURY TO SELECT THE NOMINEES?Given the sheer number of games released each year, as well as the extended time required to fully evaluate products, a “voting outlet” approach allows for the widest possible critical assessment. A ballot submitted to The Game Awards represents the collective opinion of an entire outlet, not one individual’s point of view.
WHO SELECTS THE WINNERS?Winners are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%). Fans can vote for their favorite games on TheGameAwards.com and also via social media platforms in select categories. In China fans can vote on the winners via Bilibili. Fan voting closes on Wednesday, December 9 at 6 pm PT.
WHY DON’T FANS COMPLETELY CHOSE THE WINNERS?Creating a 100% fan vote presents several challenges. First, given that some games are exclusive to one platform, a public vote puts single-platform games at an inherent disadvantage over multi-platform titles. In addition, it is important that winners cannot be “socially engineered” in any way. We find that a blended vote is the most credible and authentic way to select winners.
Comments
I voted and I think they deserve it cross the fingers and lets wait the results...
While LoR deserves to be nominated and is a good game i think there is no way that it will win against it's compeditiors... i mean I can't imagine that among us gets beaten after the huge hype around it
Idk man, genshin impact has a chance to beat it, and even call of duty can beat LOR on mobile just from the range of fans
Deserved!
Voted. Legends of Runeterra deserves more recognition. I'm also really surprised about the number of nominations that Hades got. I should pick it up. And Ori and the Will of the Wisps didn't make into Best Game of the Year? Blasphemy! It is the best side scrolling action platforming/metroidvania game in a long time.
I don't expect LoR to win, i'm just happy it got nominated among those giants.
huge slap in the face of HS. not to mention that even if HS was in a great shape it has huge tech issues on its mobile version
How's that slap in the face of HS exactly? Makes no sense.
I assume he means that a card game got nominated, and it wasn't Hearthstone. But since the mobile version of HS is pretty bad anyways, I'm not sure how it would ever have gotten nominated, no matter the quality of the gameplay. The issues involved in playing HS on mobile are numerous.
In my opinion, Legends of Runeterra would deserve it. Among Us is a great game too, but on pc.
We can do it but with a commotion like among us is a honor just to be nominated in the first-year of lunch go lor I love you
