Hey everyone,

We released a rather large patch today, and we’ve had a few bugs pop up as a result. We’re working through these bugs now and should have an update for you on each in the next few days. If you encounter a bug with this patch, let us know in this thread.

  • We’re aware of and working on a visual bug that persists on the board after a Corrupted minion has been destroyed, transformed, or otherwise removed.
  • We’re aware of and working on a bug that is causing unlocked Duels Hero Power and Signature Treasure choices to revert to default Hero Powers and Signature Treasures after they’ve been selected.

  • I didn't have time to update and play yesterday, today it seems the game is stuck on the loading screen after the update (in case anybody asks, I have a Pixel2XL, Android 11 and 4 GB RAM). Just sits there with the logo, some mild flashing, for minutes on end (or until I forget to tap and the phone goes to sleep after a while).

On my PC I also experience the phantom minion glitch, it is quite confusing, and I think it prevented me from playing a seventh minion because of board space, even though the minion wasn't doing anything otherwise.

    Quite disappointing.

  • I took a break from this game when the new set launched, but it seems like every time they update the game there's more bugs that just make the game unplayable.

  • It's almost like they didn't do regression testing.

  • 30minplaying was enough for me to detect a couple of bugs. meaning they didnt test at all?

During my programming courses at University, I was always taught to have a test plan.  That is, you go through a predetermined checklist to test the functionality of your program before publishing it looking for bugs.  I appreciate there are some complex interactions within Hearthstone, and it's not feasible to test everything but surely playing some games on each game mode with a variety of decks/mechanics would be standard in such a test plan.

And checking out achievements and its pages are working correctly.

If it's not, then they aren't doing it properly.  Over the last 18 months or so it's started to feel like we're playing on a PTR and doing the testing for them.

yes, it's called regression testing, everyone does that, I'm sure they do either

      but

there are always things that will slip through and will show up only on prod environments

      although

what I think happens here is that because they committed to a hard deadline, announced last week, and they had to schedule release with mobiles as well, they knew about these bugs but decided to release anyway and fix those known bugs in a hotfix

it's not a perfect scenario, but after working for over a decade in software industry gaming and non-gaming, everyone goes through the same problems unfortunately

My Uni courses were over a few decades ago so not surprised it's called something else now :)

I think most would agree the quality of the product has gone down over the last few years.  Some of that could perhaps be explained by more frequent updates, and an increasingly complexity of the game.  But my feeling is there are less resources dedicated to proper testing in terms of people and time.

Just speculation on my part though.

  • Funny, it seems it is not related to Corrupted only: my Zephrys stayed on board too.

  • I don't know if this is because of this patch or has been liek that the whole time but I just received the shaman achievement to "deal 16 damage with my hero in one turn" by playing Hagatha, the Witch.

    • Is this supposed to be a bug? Even though it's the card's battlecry, you're hero is technically the one dealing the damage.

    • Yeah, that was reported by other players before already.

  • Small indie company uh

  • My achievements are super laggy on mobile. It has trouble loading the page when I scroll down and pulls me back up to the top when I claim an achievement.

    Nothing Special but annoying.

Same here, I can see how they pop up one by on

      Edit: Same is on PC

    • Same here.
