One word takes the card from unplayable to great!
It's now more generally useful than Commencement, so only Lady Liadrin competes for the slot until we see a 7-drop from Barrens. It's hard to imagine Paladin not running Librams (and therefore Liadrin), but that leaves room for at least one of these guys.
Even with the buff, it's still meh
I think FortyDust has it right by saying that the big thing here is that there's really no competition for the 7-drop slot in Paladin (particularly after rotation), so this card is actually probably very good in context. Where this is probably particularly relevant is in Pure Paladin, but with only High Exarch Yrel left to support that archetype after rotation, the archetype may be irrelevant.
I always liked this card, mostly because of the artwork and creature itself. I hope a value oriented paladin deck ends up being good and this finds a place there.
Kinda good now with the buff. Might actually see play! (Probably as a 1 off to replace Amber Watchers healing.)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
