I'm not entirely sure how good this is but I really REALLY like the design. It's healing for DH that isn't actually defensively oriented but rather encourages you to push for lethal instead of dealing with the board (which it can still do provided you don't hit a minion with more than 1 attack).
Also pretty strong with Il'gynoth.
Pen Flinger already proves this kind of concept works, so I wouldn't be surprised if this makes the cut in most Dh decks with a decent amount of Outcast card.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
At first, I was very scared. And then I remembered Headcrack, which, true, costs one more mana than this and doesn't have Lifesteal. However, it's easier to trigger and easier to hit face with... and has never, ever been in a competitive deck. Headcrack is too slow.
A difference, though - you can play this multiple times per turn! But how many? Even in the best case scenario, only three times. Six damage and six healing (provided there are no taunts) for the price of three Outcast cards and your turn. Demon Hunter has far better ways to damage and heal than that.
I do think this will have a place to shine, though. It's more flexible than Headcrack, being a minion, so instead of aggression, imagine the opposite - your opponent has a board full of 1-1s and 1-2s that you need to clear. You can use Kor'vas Bloodthorn as a mini board clear and heal to sweep them up and exhaust their advantage. I think this will work best in a Control DH, god forbid, or simply to help aggressive DH builds better beat down other aggressive decks.
Better call Thrall!
Sweet. I hate it already!
wait.. WHAT THE **** BLIZZARD. This is an Legendary Charge version of "HEY LOSER" with LIFESTEAL. This can/will be soo obnoxious to keep playing against, and its downside of needing an outcast card isn't that bad considering it's easy to outcast cards in DH. Kor'vas Bloodthorn seems like a super strong minion that will see a lot of play in any DH deck with a bunch of outcast cards.
Edit: Considering it says "after you play a card with outcast", does that mean you need to play ANY card with outcast on it? IF SO then you don't even need to outcast the outcast card in order to bounce Kor'vas Bloodthorn! And if that's actually how it works, then it's even better then i thought! :(
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
It's good but I don't know how good, I mean there is a lot of cheap outcats but if you are not silencing a taunt this just dies.
I think most people will be overreacting over this.
Cheap new Legendary means Mombo-Combo season's open!
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
At first glance I thought this would be a very strong card, but after thinking about it I am not so sure.
The obvious comparison here is Pen Flinger. The difference is that Kor'vas costs more, is way harder to trigger, and can't trade into hardly anything without dying.
The difference between 2 and 1 mana is a lot when you are talking about a card you are expected to play many times in a game.
There are only 13 cards with outcast in the game (counting Illidari Studies) and out of those only about 7-9 of them are really played, and more than half of those cost 3 or more mana.
The big thing though is the charge keyword. Getting an extra 2 damage lifesteal ping every now and then is useful, but unless you are hitting face this will die very quickly. And as Me0203 pointed out, Headcrack is an awful card.
All in all this card looks cool but in reality is probably way more trouble than he is worth.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
No more Altruis the Outcast and in comes this. Perhaps one of the weakest one yet, but not too entirely bad. It has charge, so that has to count for something. The tremendous problem is that there isn't alot of good outcast options at the moment, so is there any reason not run something more efficient like Pen Flinger? Probably not.
The health regen is a nice addition. But even control dhunters wouldn't be able to get this running out more than 3 times per game at best, and I can't imagine anyone saving up outcast cards for this to work.
very, very soft synergy with Illgynoth, but almost too expensive as a finisher. What i notice is that you need to play an outcast card, not an outcast card with it's outcast effect, to bounce it back into your hand.
who knows, maybe she can find a home in aggressive lists that discount their outcast cards with Skull of Gul'dan and Illdari Studies
Very hard to judge this card, I don't see players repetitively bouncing this back to hand very often. I would be surprised if it sees as much play as Pen Flinger seeing as there's such a limited number of outcast cards. Will probably see more play as more expansions get released, coz there will inherently be more outcast cards printed in future expansions.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
So interesting that they remove almost (all?) of the charge minions from standard, then add this. It's attack is too small to be a huge threat, but it could present significant damage over several turns.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
I like the abilities, but I am really unsure about the bounce effect
