Forged in the Barrens Pre-Release pack opening

I was going over the Blizzard site and I was not able to find any information about potentially opening your pack early like what was previously offered (https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/news/23557138/open-madness-at-the-darkmoon-faire-packs-at-home-at-your-own-pre-release-fireside-gathering)

With the last expansion, as long as you were able to "host" a Fireside gathering at your house on your WiFi, you were able to open your packs.  I've not seen anything posted about Forged in the Barrens.  Does anyone have a spoiler for it?

  • I saw an article about the pre-release on Battle.net and attempted to open my packs early too. After googling my issue I found out that it starts on the Thirtieth. I have always opened my packs early but I do not remember the pre-release being this late. Could just be a selective bias, or whatever though.

    Your face is already dead

  • That will super bum me, and a number of other people out as well, if they have to wait to do a pre-release for the day before.  That seem so stupid

  • It starts the 30th. Everything else is behind schedule -- why not that?

I do have related question! If I open Rogue packs from Book of Heroes during the early opening, can they contain Barrens cards?

I'll probably wait anyway, just to be safe.

  • In the middle of this Post Blizzard announces:

Private pre-release Fireside Gatherings will take place the weekend before Forged in the Barrens goes live, March 26 at 10:00 a.m. PT – March 29 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

So it is like every expansion the weekend before the release.

  • This has got me wondering if I create a taven or fireside for my house if I can open my packs then instead of having to wait for the day before.  This ultimately is the reason why I wanted to know if anyone else knew.

@Sakyo, thanks for that intel.  I created my fireside for Saturday so that I can take advantage of it.

@FortyDust, I don't know.  I've heard both sides of the argument with this one.  One side stated that once the pack is issued to the player that the card are  "pre-determined".  The other side stated that it will go off of the current standard meta available.  If it were the latter, I think that would be awesome to keep your class packs and open them when a new expansion comes around.
