Win count boosted

I just launched the 20.0 patch and got 4! 1000 win portraits!
My best guess is, all the past arena wins have been added to the counter? 
Mage, Paladin and Rogue got the biggest boost and those were the most picked classes back in the day.
I'm not complaining but i gotta say, this was a little to unexpected.
Hopefully this isn't a bug?

I just saw the same thing - a sudden boost to my wins. Sure hope it's not a fluke - I'd hate to see them revert these boosts.

It's not a fluke, it's actually a change that was already in the game but not active.

It now counts Duels and Arena wins toward your total progress (basically everything not casual or PvE)

It's for people who don't play Ranked but rather focus on the secondary gamemodes

What I'm most surprised at is that all of a sudden I have exactly 1000 wins with Paladin, Rogue, and Warlock. Coincidence?

That's interesting. I knew they were doing that, but had thought it was already applied to my totals.

Was waiting for confirmation, but I think I've figured it out.

For some reason the new system can't add wins beyond 1000. This doesn't mean that you can no longer earn wins past 1000, that works fine. However, if you had Arena/Duels wins previously that would add to over 1000 on your hero it will only go to 1000.

This also applies if you're already at 1000 or above.

I noticed this when apparently I didn't get any wins added to Hunter (which is the only class I have above 1000 wins) despite having won a few Duels before.

Hm, nothing was added to my wins. But I wasn´t playing Arena, like ever, so maybe that´s why.

yes, as I said, you can earn them normally just fine, this just applies to the wins that you got retroactively added due to the change.

If you had below 1000 wins before the patch, the Duels/Arena wins you earned before that were added up to 1000 (for some reason).

One weird thing happened for me and this might be a bug but i got the achievements for 1000 Top 4 and 250 1st places in Battlegrounds. However, my stats still show way less than that. Every new patch strange things happen.

I finally got like 5 golden heroes when I logged in today! Pleasantly surprised

If you had below 1000 wins before the patch, the Duels/Arena wins you earned before that were added up to 1000 (for some reason).

I think there is more to it. I got over 100 wins for warrior despite it being over 1k. Also, 2 classes surpassed the 1k mark with the patch and didn’t stop at the exact 1000, while 2 others did

Edit: They actually fixed that! I got even more wins accounted for. Almost 500 mage wins lol

Yeah, happened to me, too. Got five 500 win portraits - I do not play that much but play mostly Arena and have been playing since beta. It also counted for the general win achievement which awarded a ton of golden cards - from commons to legendaries. Cool cool cool.
