Master Duelist 1.4: Back To School - Submission & Discussion Thread

Greetings everyone, and welcome to the submission thread of third challenge of Master Duelist!

General Information

This challenge will begin today, November 11th, and will end on November 30th. During this window of time, you'll have to start a Duels run with a starting deck including at least 5 spells belonging to just one Spell School. School-less spells are allowed and Signature Treasures count towards the restriction.

Everyone who'll post proof of a 7+ wins run in this article's comment section will be awarded with a different amount of gold, an in-site currency you'll be able to earn from different activities and that will be used to purchase cosmetics in our in-site shop.

Submission Rules

In order for your run to count towards the challenge, you'll have to provide an appropriate proof of your feat; otherwise, your result won't count. To be precise, you will have to reply to this forum thread including:

• a picture of how your run ended;
• a picture of your starting deck;
• a picture(s) of your final deck.
• any other information you want: even though it's not necessary, it may help other players or generate a discussion!
  • you can submit as many runs as you want: we'll always pick the best one. Don't be afraid to show what you experimented with: let's start a discussion here!

Remember that we have to make sure you actually played following the rules, so please help us in doing so - disqualifying players feels bad, and we'd want to avoid it if possible! No exceptions will be made.

Challenge Rewards

Here's a quick breakdown explaining the rewards you'll receive based on your performances:

Time Criteria

Those which follow are the time criteria we'll use to determine the winner in case of identical scores:

• An Heroic run will be considered more difficult than a Casual one, therefore Heroic players will have the priority.
  • If you get the best score overall with a 10-wins run in Casual and somebody else gets a 10-wins run in Heroic, the latter will be the winner of the challenge.
• In case of more people getting the same score, the winner will be decided by the submission time.
  • If more players will get to 12 wins, losses will count as well: a 12-0 will be considered better than a 12-2 or a 12-1. 
  • You could get the highest score on the first day as well as on the last day of the challenge, but if someone submits the same score before you do, then they'll be the winner.

In from the starting gun!

Decklist number one is a Soul Fragment deck with only Shadow spells. 

Currently 2-1.., lost to a 3 mana, 12 point burst turn by a priest with Fireshaper and the embrace/heal combo. I'll update as I go. 

NOTE: Power Overwhelming is in my deck, NOT Wicked Whispers. It was not available in the deckbuilder b/c it's HoF.

5-2 at the moment. recycling and Battle totem have been solid. The losses were ugly lol.

Hi all!

Managed to get 12-2 with Shadow Diablo with the demon seed quest.  

Had to take Claws of Terror treasure because fire spells are not allowed.

Got my first 12-0 run in Duels with Dragon Priest with Holy spells. It was in Casual mode.

Dragon Affinity causes you to put up incredible tempo early on and with double Battle cries I was Alexstraszaing my opponents face most of the time even when the pesky paladins hiding behind their divine shield taunts :D

I created the deck from the builder but couldn't find Holy Fire in the deck creator so replaced It with Against All Odds for just completing the deck. If you want to use the exact deck replace It with Holy Fire in game.

9 wins Fire Diablo (Heroic)

Sorry guys for being absent throughout all the month, but the reveal season *really* drained all the free time I usually dedicate to content creation, to the point where I didn't have time to try out the challenge myself either.

Definitely a shame, but it do be like that sometimes.

I congratulate with everyone that decided to join Master Duelist 1.4 and take a shot at the challenge, as well as to those who achieved great results and shared them with the rest of the community.

I will now go over each submission and check if the criteria are met, and then I'll upload the results in the database so that you'll receive your well-earned mentions and rewards.

The next challenge of Master Duelist has already been decided, and will start as usual at the 10th of the month. While I shouldn't say anything about the theme... make sure to enjoy the new expansion!

Congrats to everyone! I did manage a 7 win heroic run, but lost my screenshot sadly. Might be able to recover it tomorrow at work, but will be too late. I hope to do better in the next!
