Hmm seems kinda like a arena card, and thats probably it. It seems too slow for standard and wild, even if both formats slow down.
Definitely an Arena card. The stats are awful even if the effect goes off. The real value is in the 3 damage battlecry, which will more often be a factor in Arena than Constructed/Duels.
I don't think is a terrible card. It is a neutral version of Baited Shot.
Its just a poor card outside of the deal 3 damage bit. If you cant honor kill something then this is just a slightly stronger Stormpike Commando, which is quite shit to be honest.
Still, being able to deal 3 damage and only sometimes get a good 6/6 out for 5 after removing one minion is definitely not completely trash, just sitting very near to one.
Yeah, not much. Very conditional for not a whole lot of upside. Will definitely see play... In Honor Kill decks slapped together to complete a quest.
This is honestly a ten out of ten arena card. 3 health is an important break point, and throwing down a 6/6 on top of killing a minion is a huge board swing. And in an emergency, it's a 3/3 kill a dude, which is perfectly okay (see Bomb Lobber).
EDIT: Oh, and it can go face. High power potential and it's super versatile.
As an Arena main, I have to say that this may very well turn out to be a little unwieldy. 5 mana 6/6 deal 3 is amazing but 5 mana 3/3 is game losing.
This means that you do not have control so much when this comes down. Would I take it over the 5/6 quillboar for example? I probably would. But that minion is a lot more consistent than this one is.
It's a question of upside versus reliability and small overstattedness and 3 dmg may not equal a great 5 drop when you have to rely on your opponent leaving you a 3 health minion to hit.
That being said, it does go face so your face be all already and shit may be cool. Right, HH? I do think it's good, cuz the 5 mana that deals 3 to tribes can be useful though. This is better.
Ok card - good for Arena - standard? meh ... maybe ...
Seems like a decent arena card, but bad in constructed. 3 damage is not enough to kill something at 5 mana.
Pretty sure they're deliberately designing Arena-only cards at this point but that's fine.
Great card for the current meta. I'm looking forward to decks will need to make sure that they don't have any 3 health minions on the board on T5
Arena: Probably in the same range as Fire Elemental. Fire Elemental is more consistent and deals one more damage, but when Knight-Captain hits it's one mana cheaper and has one more health. And if the honorable kill doesn't go off it's more like a Waste Warden, a card that's able to hit multiple targets, but most of the time doesn't and still is a reasonable card. Yes, Knight-Captain can grow even bigger than a 6/6, but that doesn't make this card a whole lot better. It's power comes from the initial damage.
Constructed: Doesn't do anything specific enough to warrant a deck slot. Won't see play.
Kind of a neutral Fire Elemental. A solid showcase for the honor kill mechanic, but probably won't see constructed play.
Will the battlecry count for honorable kill, or do you have to attack? If it counts, well, a 5-mana 6/6 that removes something might be decent, otherwise this is trash.
Honorable kill works on Battlecry, yes. It also works on attack, so Knight-Captain can effectively grow infinite (as long as the opponent has a 12 HP minion, 15 HP minion and so on).
Not likely to see play in Constructed, where a 5 Cost 6/6 that kills a 3-Drop weirdly isn't good enough, but I have a feeling this will see more than enough play in Arena.
In most cases it is a 5 mana 6/6 which removes a small minion as well, but you may have to hold on to it to make the most of its potential, which doesn't seems too tempo/powerful
Nice arena card with new expansion mechanic. Nuff said.
Very mediocre card if you can't get the horable kill reward
Great for arena, but I don't know if player standard decks will be able to squeeze this in anywhere.
Another WoW joke. HK:Knight-Captain.
I feel like the honorable kill requirement won't be that hard to proc. Even on later turns if you draw it off curve there will be reasonable targets to hit with this. And if all you do is remove something and leave an understatted body behind, it still isn't terrible.
I feel like it's unwise to dismiss a Deal 3 Battlecry off the cuff. Needing the Honorable Kill to get decent stats is a blow, of course, but that's still a pretty good effect for a Neutral card to have.
Good in Arena? Can't really see a deck wanting to run this elsewhere.
Arena card for sure, I would not even play a 5 mana 6/6 without conditions in constructed.
Quite a nice arena card, but can't see it warranting a deck spot anywhere else.
