Requires two other cards for his effect to matter, but at least you can just jam him on two and go ham if he lives.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I am SOOOOOOO glad that Librams won't be in Standard for this. Granted it is a priority removal, since it just double up your buffs. But still, the idea of dropping a reduced cost buff on it and then it hitting something else is not the best thing to see on the other side of the board,
This is just worse Voraxx, right? And Voraxx saw zero playin a meta where Buff Paladin was pushed as an archetype
so unless there's some bonkers holy spell in the set, it's a dead card
The Voraxx was the card that came to my mind as well, but this is two mana cheaper and has a better base statline which is a big difference. So no, this is not a worse Voraxx.
Arena > Wild > Standard
Thank yogg that Libram of Wisdom rotates. Still, considering paladin often plays a lot of holy spell buff cards i bet it will see play.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Its not a bad 2 drop on its own, and its practically a soft taunt of which your opponent will never allow to live. Paladin is facing an existential crisis in the next meta, so there's always a chance that team5 have printed a boatload of good holy spells that'll make this card nuts.
Right now however, Im just upset that Noble Mount is not a holy spell.
This guy is going to be scary throughout it's existence in standard. Might even restrict the design space for holy spells. The fact that it's a 2 mana legendary also means it'll be very easy to play him and weave in some holy spells to buff the other minions on your board.
We'd have to wait for the core set changes to see what other holy spells Paladin will get
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
For 2 Mana i guess it is decent enough to see play even tough Librams will be gone this could get dangerous if left alive!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Don't underestimate Paladin's capacity to swarm and buff their boards.
(2) mana seems rather cheap to multiply your buffs too, with or without discount!
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Yay, now Paladin gets to double up on its buffs. There doesn't seem to be that many target holy buff spells, so maybe it won't be too op. At least Hand of A'dal is leaving. The closest card to this in effect looks to be Djinni of Zephyrs. I've never heard of that card being powerful, but I imagine this will work better due to the lower mana cost.
Yes, Kotori is 2 mana cheaper, but it requires you to have an additional minion on the board AND only Holy Spells work with it. Voraxx would create the minion for you for free and it works with every spell.
One thing I didn't consider is that Voraxx would put the spell on a sleeping minion, while Kotori can put it on an active minion instead, meaning for 2 more Mana you can double your Holy Spell. But once again, that's only a strong combo if they print a good holy spell to use with it. Because so far there's only Blessing of Kings in standard (and they might remove it from Core set, and even if, 6 mana give minions 8/8 is not a very good deal these days)
A cheap, flexible minion that repeats buff spells so you can get even more value from them. Should be a good card for a Buff Paladin that runs a lot of Holy spells, even with Hand of A'dal rotating. It's too cheap and too flexible to not get at least a chance in the meta.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Man does it look sad without Librams to support it. Really needs Holy buff cards and we're just fresh out of them.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
It has good stats and a strong effect. With Librams rotating, it shouldn't be that scary in Standard, but he might really shine in Wild!
