Fantastic tempo support for any Shaman deck that runs Multicaster, which, at this point, should be every Shaman deck. It's fairly simple to get this juiced up to 3 on curve and then it's a pretty huge tempo play.
The dream would be turn 1 Lightning Bolt, turn 2 the new Fire Spell, turn 3 Sleetbreaker + windchill, turn 4 Caverns, and turn 5 this. Massive tempo swing against any class without large boardclears.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Good for swing turns
Im honestly lukewarm on this card. The payoff is good, but unlike Multicaster, which can be played off curve, this card loses its luster for every turn after turn 5. And without Lightning Bloom or evolve cards, it can't even cheese a win.
Not to mention that playing anything more than 2 different spell schools by turn 5 is fairly difficult. There's no more Primordial Studies, so your main would be nature, fire and frost. Good luck getting those out by turn 5, dodging overload and having no board to speak of.
Really good tempo/swing card, but i'm not sure if it's good enough. Sure its a ton of stats, and shamans have a bunch of spell schools available... But do you really want to play Coral Keeper into your Snowfall Guardian turn? Not only that but the elementals are just pain minions, they have no immidiate impact on the board. I'm not sure about this card.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
So at best this card will summon 3 3/3 elementals (chances of summoning 4 is super low). Not that great imo and with this being the first expansion for the new year, the card pool is the smallest it will be in Standard, so you will have a small selection of good spells from each spell school.
It'll probably be too inconsistent and not enough tempo to see play.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
A naga card that doesn't care if you were holding it when you casted the spells. I'm not sure how good filling your board with vanilla 3/3s would be in the mid-late game, however.
First impression was that it is very weak but has potentail for swing turns and also to push the new card Bioluminescence for an Spell Damage OTK ....

Petting Zoo, is that you?

Bear'on Glashear, except cheaper, you can run multiple copies, and it fits a little better with what Shaman is doing right now. Not necessarily a bad finisher in Shaman decks that run cheap spells like Windchill, Scalding Geyser, and the like. I think this will be good, and will see a lot of play.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
I'm prolly rating this a bit higher than most, but this is a board refill in 1 card. There can be value in that.
That was my thoughts also, as I see how it will help regaining the board after a slower game start; summoning 2 or 3 3/3s on turn 5 ain't bad at all, but is subject to variation as the greedier conditions may not be reached yet, on T5.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
With the return of Bloodlust, maybe Burn Shaman isn't so much of a soften with board to nuke you from hand, but rather the other way around with this card providing the boards.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
It's a lot of stats for its cost, considering Shaman will still have access to 3 spell schools in Standard. Should see some play, at least one copy of it.
