Just watched this video (I have nothing to do with it or the channel) in which they examined how many packs are needed for full collection, bundle pricing now and previous, and just how generous Blizzard have been over the years.
Pretty interesting (though the first 4 mins are very skippable).

I watched it yesterday. I like that channel cause it supports everything it says with data.
I had the feeling that Blizzard was slowly decreasing the FireFestival rewards, and this video just gave me the proofs I needed.
However, we should also consider that we've got plenty of ways to fill that gap, such as Twitch Drops, in-game events like the recent Rise of Mechs and Choose your Champion! during HCT Tournaments.
Yeah, people tend to be greedy and to ask for more (I think it's normal, given that the cost of the game has been rising since the 3 expansions per year formula), but it's not like they're taking things away from us.
Yes I like those videos too.
I do think there have been more events, but shorter duration and less gold as rewards. Free (but not disenchantable) legendaries given to everyone are of course nice, and freshen the meta (important and a good idea), but won't help you save for an upcoming expac.
Good to see it looked at objectively in this video. Blizzard need to effectively monetize the game of course, whilst keeping it accessible without a huge outlay (especially for potential new players). Tricky balance to get right I should think.
