It'll see play because its another way to generate more skeletons.
Outside of that its just a so much weaker Ray of Frost in my opinion. But you do get a 2/2 each shot, so maybe the mana cost is justified.
This is Mage's Wildpaw Cavern. I would rate the singular effect around 1.5 mana. With this card for 3 mana you get 3 uses. What a Steal!
Also being a location, you can use it whenever you want AND you can have two of them on board. You do need a minion to target with, but it's a small drawback since the Volatile Skeleton archetype is more like some sort of a freeze minion mage deck.

I hope they can make a mage minion that benefits from being frozen as it can target friendlies also. Maybe a minion that gives you hero armor, gives adjacent minions lifesteal, or gains taunt when frozen.
Depends on whether Skeleton Mage works out, but since the things have cooldowns it's probably not as strong as it looks, since you can't chain freeze.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
It's an early spell-like that's not an actual spell.
So it can't be countered by anything. Good.
Three freezes and three 2/2s for 3 mana doesn't seem bad. Of course the weakness is that it has to be spread over five turns, and I'm expecting some location removal to be revealed sometime in the future.
A lingering Ray of Frost and get an exploding minion out of it? This will be used in or out of this deck that they are pushing.
Mages Wildpaw Cavern like card, but it's only every few turns. This seems kinda slow, but freeze effects are very strong so lets not underestimate that. This will see play in the Volatile Skeleton deck, but outside that i'm not sure.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
If the Volatile Skeleton archetype takes off, it's due to this location. The opportunity to freeze any minion and summon and Volatile Skeleton 3 times for 3 mana is insane. This location is basically 6 mana worth cut in half.
I'd even wage that this location makes it into non KT decks
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Another 4 stars I have to hand out because this whole archetype is just re-donkulous. I guess they didn't want to have to buff as many cards as they did last time.
I don't know how I feel about those Volatile Skeleton, I'm kinda dreading that they will be all over the place ..

Very powerful just for the effect, summoning and freezing are just to powerful, and you can play it twice! Nice card imho
Yet another Skeleton Mage card that probably sees play in every Mage deck.
