We'll have to see what the rest of the set have in stock for DH, as minion-less deck in an expansion assumedly filled with minions' corpses seems rather unlikely ..?

The next identity of dhunter requires you to play no minions apparently. Is 5 mana 9/9 stats good enough? Probably only if there's a win con that requires the same condition. Because otherwise I wouldn't cripple my deckbuilding just so this can work. We're long away from the days where even a fully charged Emerald Spellstone can threaten to end games.
These days, a 5 mana card would need to at least be able to generate a big board with little conditions, or otherwise need at least be able to affect the board. The conditions of this card though...needs further convincing.
Spell DH Archetype incoming? That seems pretty bad unless they get some really strong support...
I can only see this getting played if DH gets a strong spell that is a cheap minion generator, and on top of that it needs to be easy to generate... Either that or they make a legendary DH weapon with battlecry: "For the rest of game, whenever you cast a spell, discover a minion"... or a legendary spell with a similar effect.
Hmm, now i think about it i kinda hope they make a card like that. That would be fun to play around with.
Edit: Another thing they could do is push a aggresive Token DH deck that is all about summoning minions with spells, which kinda makes sense i guess. But that would i.m.o. be the more boring option.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
We doing no-minion DH now? Well, no-minion Mage was one of the top decks about a year ago, so it might work.
Worse Emerald Spellstone at face value and excludes Jace (although he leaves next year anyways):
Might be something there, but I honestly doubt it in the current climate. Maybe if you run two key payoff cards (like Jace and Xy'mox) and run Abyssal Depths as a tutor to get them out of the way
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
A no minion DH? Sounds interesting, considering everyone used to joke about spell Hunter back in the Rumble days. Also DH does have Abyssal Depths which can tutor Lady S'theno for eg, so I'm fairly optimistic about this new DH archetype.

Looking really strong, can't wait to play around with it and the scythe!
Pretty alright for Spell DH, helps them stabilize, and off of Jace threaten to finish the job after you've dunked somebody for 20
