Unless hunter gets very good reasons to tutor arcane spells this card is just useless.
2 mana to draw a card that only adds +1 damage. If there isn't a card that scales with spell damage this card is just draw 1 for 2 mana, which is just bad. Not to mention that there current isn't really alot of arcane spells you want to tutor out from hunter.
Probably something down the line to be revealed.
Defend the Dwarven District might like this card? Its a hero power refresh and can allow you to deal more FACE dmg thanks to the spell damage. Also seeing hunter with Spell damage really remind me of Vereesa Windrunner, which honestly isn't a good thing. However this being draw in hunter at least makes it a bit better.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I guess there's going to be Arcane Spell Hunter this time. 2 x Arcane Shot at least gets 6 damage out of these.
Right now the only arcane Hunter spell is Arcane Shot. I'm going to assume they'll be printing more over the next few expansions, because otherwise what's the point of this?
Arcane Quiver being a thing means that Arcane Hunter will receive massive support.
However, this also means that Questline Defend the Dwarven District will receive new tools to choose from, which is a real shame. I really can't wait for that stupid card to rotate.
Spice Lord and self-proclaimed Meme Master.
Is Arcane Shot sufficient reason to run this?
Hoping for new arcane spells for Hunter
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Assuming there's going to be something more interesting then Arcane Shot to go with these. Either way, the current state of Spell hunter is defined by Quest and that is unlikely to change, even if the Quest is worse now.
Unless we get a massive payoff legendary I doubt this'll be relevant before next year.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This is actually hilarious that Blizzard decided to reveal this hunter card first when there's only Arcane Shot in standard atm. Sure more arcane spells will get revealed but I don't see a point in running this card at all. The +1 spell damage isn't that much of a benefit anyway. Least the epic gem matches the card art but I'll be bummed if I open this epic in packs.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Really weird card, which feels out of place in hunter.
(Is there a chance we might understand it wrong ?
Like : it does not just enhance the drawn spell damage by 1. But actually makes it a "give +1 spell damage until the end of game/turn" spell ?
Seems unlikely...)
Right now, it gives me a relic/libram kind of vibes : We may get some card that'll synergize with it that expansion. But we should not expect more support past that point.
In a vacuum, it's seems neither bad nor good : discovering a spell directly from your deck is an okay-ish effect; regardless of arcane synergy. Priest has been making use of such effect for years.
In the end, it may well prove to be just a fair and balanced cards (though unexciting) : another Thrive in the Shadows, but with a slight twist - sometimes -.
I think that this will be used more than we think. It's deck thinning/draw that also gives a little bump to the damage.
Thrive in the Shadows Arcane
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Pretty good card, sure to see some play!
