This just feels uninspired. We're not really in a time where just throwing out a bunch of slightly above curve stats is enough to win, but I guess it qualifies as tempo.
There isn't much inspiration here, that's for sure; a simple (4) mana 4/4 with a chance at making it a 5/5 ...
Doesn't feel like enough to carry Dragon Pally ... sad
Meh, just a tempo card i guess? 4 mana 4/4 rush is kinda meh, it's literally a class-version of Silvermoon Armorer, that gets half the stats in exchange for being a dragon. Sure Silvermoon Armorer has manathirst and might just be better when topdecked + no dragons in hand, but your only using Daring Drake in dragon paladin decks so that doesn't really count for much. However both get added in the same expansion, which is kinda funny.
Honestly this card looks quite boring, which is something i REALLY don't like to say.
this just seems straight up bad, even with its effect triggering
5/5 with rush for 4 is just 1-2 stats above average... don't see much reason for people to play this, even in dragon decks
I have a strong feeling this card has been nerfed before launch, because this card looks awful. We already had this 4 years ago and his name is Scaleworm, a card that saw some play but is frequently dropped in most lists. And here's a card 4 years later that's only marginally better than his predecessor.
Very likely team5 didn't like the idea of a 6/6 for 4, so they nerfed the guy. Unfortunately, this makes the card sadly playable but not great, not even worth inclusion in my books. You'll better off just getting the card out of discovers.
Very easy condition to meet and having a 4 mana 5/5 rush is good tempo. There is the Scaleworm comparison but this dragon is better coz 1) it's a dragon instead of a beast. 2) it has inherent rush so if the requirement isn't met, it's still a 4/4 with rush that can do something the turn it's played. Ofc though it'll only see play if the whole dragon Paladin archetype is resurrected from the grave. 😏
I don't know how many dragons will be gone by next year, but even with the dragons printed for this expansion, there should still be enough that activating the battlecry won't be a problem. A 4-cost 5/5 rush should be pretty good.
Such a disappointing effect for the Dragon in hand condition.
Solid card, curious to see if Dragon Paladin will be a thing now.
