THQ Nordic's latest Showcase just concluded, revealing a number of new games, as well as providing new trailers for existing ones. There was also a pre-show from HandyGames, a subsidiary of THQ Nordic, which we'll also cover. And to coincide with the Showcase, the majority of THQ Nordic games are on sale on all major platforms for about a week. Now, let's get into the games!

HandyGames

As mentioned, there was a brief pre-show from HandyGames that showcased a number of their upcoming games, plus some that are already out. We'll only focus on the new announcements, but you can check out their stream for the full thing.

Airhead

A metroidvania with an emphasis on puzzles, Airhead sees you in control of a body that carries around a head-like organism who risks losing all its air due to a leak. You know, standard stuff. The game currently has a demo on Steam if you want to give it a shot.

Lethal Honor

A hack-and-slash action roguelite game with a comic book-like art style and presentation. You'll need to defeat various enemies in brutal fashion, in a story and setting that doesn't seem to shy away from gore.

Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure

What looks to be a cross between an automation game and a Pikmin-like experience, all set in a cutesy fantasy setting. The game's world is procedurally generated with a variety of biomes, and it offers the option for online co-op.

A Rat's Quest - The Way Back Home

Last, but certainly not least, we have A Rat's Quest, a 3D platformer where you play as a rat trying, if the name is anything to go by, get back home. If you ever wanted to experience Pixar's Ratatouille in the form of a game, this might be the closest we'll get. Well... aside from the actual Ratatouille games.

THQ Nordic

At last, we arrive at the THQ Nordic presentation. We have 3 game announcements, 1 DLC trailer, and 6 trailers showcasing stuff for existing games.

Alone in the Dark

We have two character trailers for Edward Carnby (player by David Harbour) and Jodie Comer (played by Emily Hartwood). The game launches on October 25th, and you can get a free Prologue demo on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox.

Way of the Hunter: Tikamoon Plains

DLC for Way of the Hunter, a hunting simulator. Tikamoon Plains is out now on all major platforms except Switch.

SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY!

New South Park game! Looks to be an asymmetric 3D brawler. You can play solo or in co-op with up to 3 friends. Coming in 2024 on all platforms.

Outcast - A New Beginning

A sequel to the 1999 game (which was remade as Outcast - Second Contact by Namco), A New Beginning sees the heroes return to Adelpha for a new open-world adventure. And you have a cool jetpack!

Wreckreation

A racing game with an insane amount of track customization. You'll be able to create tracks that contain loops, windmills, and looping windmills. The track builder can be used by you and your friends at the same time, and you can also customize everything else, from your car to the weather to the track itself mid-race.

Titan Quest II

A sequel to the 2006 game that managed to get expansions up until last year. No gameplay was shown, but if it's anything like it's predecessor, it'll be an action-RPG in the vein of Diablo, but with a mythological twist to it.

Last Train Home

A survival strategy game inspired by historical events where you must take care of the a Czechoslovak legion as they traverse the countryside in the hopes of reaching their home. The game is releasing on PC later this year.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy

The fifth entry in the puzzle platformer series. Like the previous games, this sees players in control of a wizard, a knight and an assassin, with this trailer focusing on the co-op experience.

Space For Sale

A city builder set on an alien planet. Your end goal is to build various habitats and then sell them to eccentric clients for a profit. You can register for a closed beta on the game's site.

Tempest Rising

A real-time strategy game with a futuristic military aesthetic. A Steam playtest is currently underway and will last until August 28th.

Gothic

A quick look at the remake of the 2001 action RPG. The trailer focuses on a peasant, likely the player character, strolling through a mining camp and interacting in various ways with the NPCs.

TMNT: The Last Ronin

An adaptation of a 5-issue mini-series published by IDW in 2020. In a dark future, only one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles managed to still be alive. He must now embark on a hopeless mission to seek justice for the family he lost. Coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
