Old threads

Submitted 1 year, 2 months ago by

Hi,

I'm a bit curious about the configuration of the forum threads.

It seems that any update (like banning a bot and deleting the spam post) will make them appear in the recent threads, even though the last post is from years ago.

So my question is:  is it feasible to change either the logic behind recent threads (to not look at the "changedDate" field or whatever it's called, but at the createDate of the latest post of the thread), or to create a job that automatically closes threads that are older than e.g. 6 months, with the posibility for mods to leave some of these threads "permanently open"?

Sorry if this is already planned in a near-future update. Was just curious about your stance on this.

The current way it works is definitely not ideal. Threads that are 4 years old shouldn't even be able to be bumped without staff intervention tbh.

There is some magic in the works to fix this problem. Call it one of my top 10 annoyances on our platform!
