A number of EA games were removed from Steam during the weekend, most of them developed by Codemasters. They're pretty old games, with 5 of them released in 2009, and one released in 2014, and most are quite different from what Codemasters is developing these days (racing games). Here's the affected titles (linked to SteamDB, since you won't find the games on Steam anymore):

As can be seen from the price history chart, none of the games has seen a sale for quite a while, with the latest one being in 2023 for Hospital Tycoon and Operation Flashpoint. Then, on March 14th, the price was set to N/A and the games were removed from Steam. This is where we'd put a quote from EA on the matter, but they haven't said anything about it, not even a head's up that the games are getting removed.

Regardless of what you thought of the games (and the quality seems to have varied wildly, going by the Steam score), this is a bad thing for game preservation. As for why the games were removed, one can only speculate, but it's probably a combination of licensing expiring and the games not selling enough copies to "justify" any royalties attached to them.
