Hearthstone Patch 32.0.3 Notes Out - Changes to Constructed and Battlegrounds

Hearthstone Patch 32.0.3 that was teased yesterday has now been revealed with plenty of changes to Constructed and Battlegrounds. Type "refund" in the search bar of your collection to immediately see what cards were changed are eligible for a full dust refund.

Constructed Nerfs

These cards, as well as Signature Gorgonzormu (but not the other versions) will be available for a full dust refund for two weeks after the patch hits.

• Hideous Husk now only gives Leeches 1 extra Health stolen (down from 2 extra Health).
• Amphibian's Spirit now costs 3 (up from 2).
• Murmur now costs 7 (up from 6).
• Food Fight now costs 4 (up from 3).
• [Hearthstone Card (Spawning Pool) Not Found] now costs 2 (up from 1).
• [Hearthstone Card (Lift Off) Not Found] now costs 4 (up from 3).
• [Hearthstone Card (Chrono Boost) Not Found] now costs 5 (up from 4).
• [Hearthstone Card (Artanis) Not Found] now costs 8 (up from 7).
• Arkonite Defense Crystal is now a 4/5 (up from 3/4), but costs 5 mana (up from 4).
• Seaside Giant now costs 9 (down from 10), but only reduces its Cost by 1 (down from 2).
• Travelmaster Dungar now costs 10 (up from 9).
• The Ceaseless Expanse now costs 125 (up from 100), which is definitely the largest mana increase to ever happen.

Constructed Buffs

• [Hearthstone Card (Resplendent Dreamweaver) Not Found] now has 4 Attack (down from 5) and its Battlecry now deals 4 damage (down from 5), but gains Lifesteal.
• [Hearthstone Card (Symbiosis) Not Found] now makes the card it Discovers cost 1 less.
• Kaldorei Priestess is now a 3 mana 3/3 (down from 4 mana 4/4).
• Lunarwing Messenger now has 2 Health (up from 1).
• Aspect's Embrace now also draws a card.
• Living Garden now has 4 Health (up from 3).

Battlegrounds

• Anomalous Evidence now unlocks on turn 4.
• [Hearthstone Card (Anomalous Winsdomball) Not Found] now unlocks on turn 5 (down from turn 6).
• [Hearthstone Card (Scout's Honor) Not Found] now starts you with a Golden Patient Scout instead of a regular one.
• [Hearthstone Card (Instant Warband) Not Found] now gives you Tier 2 minions (up from Tier 1 minions).
• Queen Azshara now starts with less Armor, whereas Galakrond, Galewing, and Xyrella start with more.
• Cyborg Drake, [Hearthstone Card (Captain Bonerender) Not Found], and [Hearthstone Card (Pilgrimp) Not Found] have been removed from the minion pool.
• Upbeat Frontdrake, Utility Drone, and Sanctum Rester have been added back to the minion pool.
• Lava Lurker has a text-only update, but the patch notes neglected to tell us what that was. We're going to have to find out for ourselves.
• [Hearthstone Card (Stitched Salvager) Not Found] now has 16 Attack (down from 20) and its Deathrattle can no longer summon more copies of itself.
• Utility Drone is now Tier 6 (up from Tier 4) and is now a 6/6 (up from 4/4), and gives minions +3/+2 per Magnetic upgrade (up from +2/+1).
• The Boommobile is now a 20/20 (up from 12/12).
• [Hearthstone Card (Big Brother) Not Found] now has 4 Attack (down from 5), and gives minions +1/+1 (down from +1/+2).
• Fireworks Fanatic is now a 5/5 (up from 4/4) and gives minions +2/+2 (up from +1/+1).
• Tidemistress Athissa is now a 6/7 (up from 2/6), but it can only buff up to 4 friendly Naga instead of all of them.
• Sanctum Rester now has 2 Attack (down from 5), but gives Dragons +10 Attack (up from +8).
• Prized Promo-Drake is now a 2/2 (down from 3/3).
• Mythrax the Unraveler is now a 2/2 (up from 2/1) and gains +2/+2 per minion type you control (up from +2/+1).

Misc.

• Certain cards will now appear in Arena drafts less frequently.
• Tons of bug fixes.

Dev Comment: These changes are a continuation of the changes we made in Patch 32.0 to remove unfun play patterns and give Into the Emerald Dream the best chance to shine. Many of these changes are to cards and strategies that are bad experiences to play against even if they’re not overly powerful. We’re also adjusting a few early power outliers—including buffs! We don’t normally do balance changes this early after an expansion, but we thought making a few changes now would best align our goals for the set with our patch schedule.

Battlegrounds Updates

Dev Comment: This is expected to be our last major balance adjustment to Battlegrounds before the next season. We’re overall happy with how Anomalies were received this season, and most of our adjustments to them this patch are focused on removing a few pain points with specific Anomalies. On the minion side, our aim this patch is to lower the power of Demons and Naga and buff Dragons and Mechs. We also decided to remove Captain Bonerender from the minion pool early, for sentiment reasons. Keep an eye out, we’ll be sharing news about the next Battlegrounds season soon!

 

Anomaly Pool Updates

• Prudence of Amitus has been removed from the Anomaly Pool.
• Secrets of Norgannon and Cosmic Duality now appear less often.
• Guff Runetotem has been banned from the Secrets of Norgannon Anomaly.
• Pyramad has been banned from the Match Fixing, Golden Friendship, Emergency Landing, and Pooled Resources Anomalies.
• Saloon’s Finest (Tier 5 Tavern Spell) has been banned from the Golganneth’s Tempest Anomaly.
• The following heroes have been banned from being the second hero power option with the Cosmic Duality Anomaly: Lord Jaraxxus, Overlord Saurfang, The Jailer, Professor Putricide, Ragnaros, Tavish Stormpike, Cariel Roame, Sindragosa, Millificent Manastorm, Vanndar Stormpike, Rokara, and Sylvanas Windrunner.

• Old: At the start of your turn, choose from 2 new Quest Rewards.
• New: At the start of your turn, choose from 2 new Quest Rewards. (Unlocks on turn 4.)

Anomalous Wisdomball

• Old: You occasionally get helpful Refreshes! (Unlocks on turn 6.)
• New: You occasionally get helpful Refreshes! (Unlocks on turn 5.)

Scout’s Honor

• Old: Start with a Patient Scout in play.
• New: Start with a Golden Patient Scout in play.

Instant Warband

Utility Drone

Bug Fixes and Game Improvements

• [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where Shaladrassil could get activated by your opponent playing cards that cost more than it.
• [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where the dragon in the Horrible Egg (from Clutch of Corruption) would change if the source dragon was transformed.
• [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where Doomkin’s stats weren’t reverted when its effect was reverted.
• [Hearthstone] Updated Merry Moonkin’s text and effect so that it gains all the Armor at once, instead of over multiple activations.
• [Hearthstone] Fixed a visual bug with Shaladrassil’s history tile.
• [Collection] Fixed a bug where Signature Nightmare Lord Xavius couldn’t be disenchanted.
• [Collection] Fixed a bug where Signature Gorgonzormu disenchanted for the wrong dust amount when eligible for a full dust refund. Due to this miss during last refund window, Signature Gorgonzormu has been added to this patch’s refund period.
