Card Nerf - Corrupt Elementalist

Submitted 5 years ago by

Corrupt Elementalist is having its mana cost increased to 6, from 5, in the December 19 Patch.

How do you feel about this change?

Once these changes are live, players will be able to disenchant the adjusted cards for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks.

Still busted. The cost wasn't the problem, but the double battlecry effect.

6 mana 3/3 feels pretty bad right now. A tiny stat boost like +1 hp instead of butchering would have been better, but atleast we are done with Galakrond now. [Hearthstone Card (Dragon pack) Not Found] IMO should also get nerfed.

And as usual, I don’t like their simplistic balance design.

A 6 mana 7/5 of which 4 attack has rush AND double invokes your Galakrond still seems pretty solid. At least it will slow down shaman somewhat.

This card is still good as well as Galakrond shaman in general. You can currently have great success with it without including the other cards that are getting nerfed. Maybe it'll feel more fair to play against now? But it will definitely still be a top tier deck.

Slows down the deck, and makes Dragon's pack less consistent. Hopefully, this gives the deck more weaknesses, still a solid card though.

This is a bigger nerf than it looks like a mana nerf is huge it slows down shaman by a lot.. it gives you more time to deal with shaman and prevents "perfect curve" scenarios where you can play krunx or 2 of those befor galakround.. well now you can with coin but coin is typically a bad win rate thing..

This is the key, strongest card in Galakround shaman it slows down the whole deck, it still can be strong and still do the same stuff it does but a lot slower..

I wish they’d taken rush off the invoke cards instead... Shaman should be used to having a 2/1 sit on the board for a turn.

Increasing the mana cost slows the curve a bit, but those rush minions still do a lot of work, especially if the quest is complete.

Well, still pretty strong  - sure it is slower now but because of the double invoke with the rush minions still very good!

Combined with the Shaman Quest reward, it will have minimal impact, AND makes it a better target for mutate and lackey transformations
