Art for custom cards

Submitted 4 years, 11 months ago by

Hello everyone, I am designing my first custom class, and I have no idea where to get art from. up to this point I have just been making miscellaneous cards for card competitions on Hearthpwn (none of which made it to the finals) and it has been fine just googling for the image I need. But when making 20+ cards, well, I need a more reliable source of unique arts. Can anyone who makes a lot of custom cards help me find a place where I can get a lot of good card arts? Thanks in advance.

    There is something here.

If it isn't enough, and you don't want to make money out of it, I suggest you to use a site of wallpapers. There are a lot of good things you can use if you don't earn anything from them.

First thing's first, when you do find a piece of artwork you use, always save it into your computer. This way you don't need to re-find the image if you need to make a change to a card.

Typically, I just Google Images. Typing "______ fantasy art" you usually does the trick. Sites like Artstation, Deviantart, or Pinterest can provide good artwork to use. In the case of Artstation and Deviantart, you may end saving the name of an artist somewhere so you can use their artwork later. For artworks that more resemble Blizzard creations, blizz-art.com is a good source.

In the event that you find a good piece of artwork you like but you're not ready to use just yet, you can save it in advance so you can use it later.

This is exactly what I do. http://www.blizz-art.com has some good stuff but if I can’t find what I want I use google or the art collection from the primer thread

I make bad custom Hearthstone cards sometimes.
