Damage interactions

So I just came across a VERY unusual interactions.
I had an Unscarred Reaver on board and my opponent played Corina Veraza. However, Corina pulled only minions, dealing 0 damage....yet the Reaver still got her attack boosted as if she took damage.
Apparently these "take damage" cards will proc even if technically no actual damage was dealt, just as long as the effect that would deal damage goes through.
Probably something that should be changed in all honesty.

I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Probably the way they are programmed is "if the unit gets hit by" instead of "if the unit is damaged by". I was not clear enough, but you get the point.
Yeah, they should check this out.
Also, has LOR Discord?
Give me the reason why the mind's a terrible thing to waste?
Understanding is cruel the monkey said as it launched to space.

Sounds a lot like my earlier confusion with how the "survive damage" effects interact with barrier. I guess it's consistent, although it seems highly unintuitive.
It's technically correct. The card has "I've survived damage", not "I've taken and survived damage". So, if any effect deals x damage (x may be 0) to a target and it survived, the ability pops. Same with barrier and tough.
Less thinking, more pew-pewing!
I agree. If you give a tough minion barrier and deal 1 damage to it, even though the damage is reduced to 0 due to tough, the barrier will still be used. I found that strange when I first learned it the hard way but it makes sense if 0 damage is still considered damage in LOR (unlike Hearthstone in which Divine Shield won't be used if the damage spell deals 0 damage to it).
This. I'm firmly in the "don't-treat-0-damage-as-damage" camp, but at the very least, there is consistency here.
I don't mind the interaction (and have defended similar in the past), BUT ... because so many of these weird corner cases keep throwing people, I think there should be an in-game tip somewhere that "Zero damage still counts as damage." Maybe even part of a tutorial?
