Dust card.
Questing Adventurer is just better. And that says it all.
No thanks.
Meh, the only way to be useable is putting it on board through random effects - evolve (especially with sorcerer apprentice) or conjurers calling.
I actually will try it in Muckmorpher Eureka shaman deck (aka Big Shaman) as one off. This deck have many small cheap spells.
So, an 8 mana randomly generated Questing Adventurer then. I'm guessing they wanted more unreliability on the 8 mana slot as far as generation goes. When Evolve like cards were first introduced, the 8 mana slot was the go to for powerful reliability.
Makes generating a random elemental worse.
That's a great call! Might actually be the best use for the card, a 4/4 copy from Muck into small spells to buff it. Seems good in theory
If this ever sees play in standard, I'll eat a live rat.
1/5
Meh, first off you need to cast two spells just to give it a decent statline. That's three cards you're using for a single 9/9. And that's assuming you have two spells in your hand that you can actually use and don't cost more than 2 mana together. This would've been better a 6 mana 5/5 with the same effect.
It is an Elemental so *maybe* Cyclone Mage can make this work?
Not good, maybe for some Big Shaman Shenanigans otherwise way to slow/bad
Will probably be only playable with Eureka/Muckmorpher. There, the +2/+2 buff might be usable thanks to cheap spells many Control Shaman decks can use and Hagatha. Dunno where else this could land - maybe as a fringe alternative in Paladin decks that utilize Prismatic Lens.
Haha and I‘ll eat 2 😂😂
Eureka!
Soft nerf to Menacing Nimbus, Earthen Might, and the 8-drop slot for evolve/summon effects. I don't think there is any reason to play this alongside Eureka/Muckmorpher, as you're just making the existing deck worse.
Doesn‘t seem to greate but the synergy with Ray of Frost pops into mind. It‘s only a two card combo and an 8 mana 9-9 that has to be removed instantly. Could be even bigger with sorcerer apprentice.
I wouldn’t be to surpised to see this as a tech card for mages in specialist format but i wouldn’t bet on or either! The overall synergy with conjurer mage is not that big at
What do you mean 8 mana 9/9? If anything, then 10 mana 9/9, ray of frost does not cost 0. And if you assume Sorc Apprentice on board, then the combo is even worse, since it requires another card and will cost 10 mana total again. I get where ur coming from, but your example, even if it did cost 8 mana total, is not a good one to make this card look useful. Just a big body and a "wasted" card ... in mage? Might as well play Gruul and be better off, but you wont, cause Gruul sucks, this sucks more :/
If I see a Mage summoning it then it will be like a soft taunt for me. I'm pretty afraid of how quickly it will scalate in proper hands.
I think that everybody is underrating it and could be the big surprise of this new "set".
Let alone that if you are doing it, why aren't you playing Exotic Mountseller or Archmage Antonidas, I agree with the comparison to Gruul it's worse than a card that is terrible in the same set.
