Funny how older mini sets are returning to the client to be purchasable but not solo adventures . And on the topic of solo adventures , I don't see a bartender bob bug fix
The way I assume you want that to work would basically mean offering a full dust refund for every golden card as though they were nerfed, assuming you use some of that to re-craft the normal version. There's no way that would ever happen for obvious reasons. The only reason the golden upgrade is OK is that no-one gains any competitive or resource benefit out of the process; it just no longer feels bad when you open a card you planned on crafting golden anyway.
But hey, you're free to downgrade golden cards to normal all you like at no cost! You even get a nice 10 dust bonus for commons (I never understood why that was...).
I agree, Buddies added great gameplay to low tier Heroes, tho I will admit some of them were more broken than others. Still, imho it was a great addition that will be sorely missed.
That sure is terribly low. I haven't had a chance to play a whole lot of Arena this expansion, but facing Druids has quite often left me feeling like their card quality was just so much better.
#Update: Added a number of developer insights from the Hearthstone Features team, as they've been sharing them on Twitter. It might clarify a thing or two you might've been wondering about. You can find them below the blog post!
- Is there a change to how refresh works in mercs? They list a few changes here like blink fox's mana blink. What does "Your characters’ abilities Refresh (5)" even mean compared the old "refresh your mercs abilities".
It means that instead of setting the cooldown of the abilities to zero, it instead reduces it by 5. That change doesn't really matter for Blinkfox (probably because they wanted to keep its funcionality), but a good example on how this rework could be used can be seen on the N'zoth merc. His third ability has a 5 turn cooldown and his second ability reduces the cooldown by 2 instead of completely refreshing the ability.
- No standard changes. Bummer. Perhaps too soon after the last?
- Heroic brawliseum is, in my opinion, an unwelcome sight. If Im not mistaken, you dont even get the first run for free, and the admission fee is an eye watering 1000 gold. The meta currently isn't really all that diverse, the most decks that aren't naga dhunter and control warrior tends to have at least one very polarizing matchup. Not exactly conducive to auto lose every now and again. I cannot for the life of me understand why'd they do it now. Why not just the regular brawliseum, which is at least more accessible.

- Nzoth merc is probably good in pvp, but perhaps a little too limited in pve. At least its free, and the portraits looks really nice.
Ive a tiny feeling in my gut that tells me three additional features = lots of bugs incoming. Let's hope for no game breaking ones like nellie.
N'zoth's second artwork is a new artwork which suggests it will be added to main game. And since the artwork is also underwater(with N'zoth's fish also being present), we can grantee N'zoth in the mini-set
N'Zoth sounds pretty fun, glad there will be something to do in Mercs for a few days. Was kind of hoping Tarecgosa was getting removed, although her power level could get bumped down with the removal of buddies.
I'm kinda sad that they are removing buddies. I never really had anything against Battlegrounds. It just never catched me, yet the buddies made the game feel the freshest it has been since the Darkmoon Prices.
Also those are more Mercenaries changes than I expected from a BG focused patch. Especially considering that the next big Patch (X.4) is supposed to focus on that mode. A new event merc (ok, I actually expected that one | they are basically following the Bg route with monthly minor content updates between the big ones), but also pvp fatique, a couple minor buffs and a "preview" of the next zone. Can't wait to find out what the next patch holds for that mode. The 100 packs I saved from finishing all of the merc tasks (thanks to the task rework) are certainly ready for it...I hope.
Well... According to HSReplay the top five/six classes are pretty balanced but Hunter has an average of 36.6% win rate which is the worst I can remember over there :/
Awesome, great idea. If I may suggest a couple of things:
Decks to add:
- Casino Mage. Possibly add Enchanted Cauldron, or similar cards.
- Open the waygate Mage.
- Elemental Mage.
- Shuffle Rogue (with the spiders, bears ect.).
- Evolve Shaman.
- Elemental Shaman.
- Spitefull Summoner Druid.
- Taunt Druid.
- Corrupt Priest.
- Cube lock Warlock.
- Augmented Porcupine Hunter
- Any class with the old Wispers C'thun.
To just name a few :).
What I personally always try to do each expansion, is to make decks around the lesser used Epic cards. As a lot of them are often quite unique, but don't really fit in any meta deck.
Other:
- To add this compendium as a button to the main HS site page, or make it easy to find in the menu. As I couldn't find it there, and needed to return to the main page post to open it again.
Despite playing HS for a long time, i just reached legend for the first time! I did it using Control Dragon/Naga Warrior!
Finally got that Legend card back, and i got Raj Naz'jan as my free legendary.
(Would have liked posting an image, but i dont know how to do it... And dont want to go through the hassle of creating an account on some site tbh.)
Congrats! I reached Legend for the first time 6 years after starting with the game, it's never too late! I hope you enjoyed the climb (it can be stressful sometimes).
Great post. I've been playing DH for a while before everyone seemed to notice how strong it is, and I'm already being countered a lot, so I was thinking about playing something else, to keep things interesting.

OMEGALUL at "Upgrade to Golden".
I always thought that with this change they would completely revamp the gold card system by removing duplicates from the collection.
But they just cut the costs for crafting golden cards...
