Personally, I think it is also due to the fact that Blizzard employees (usually) do not work around the X-mas holidays anyways and they might as well extend this event until the start of next calendar year for that matter. Secondly, the extended period might regenerate a little bit of goodwill again.
I think this card will be great, since it enables some fun OTKs or combos in wild. Like this one below, should be possible and rather easy to pull off.
We already had exodia in the form of Fiora in the game. Ryze just looks like another, even more spell heavy version of the archetype. Fiora has been powercrept out of the competetive game and i don't see Ryze working eigther.
He is slooow and unlike tlc that got faster through ramp can't really speeded up.
Even If you reliably win turn 9 woth Ryze that won't be fast enough so... i'm not sold at all
I've learned that when Team 5 markets a class's 'fun new archetype', you've got a 50/50 on playable or pure shite. Fire Warrior, Deathrattle Shaman, Freeze Shaman, Deathrattle Rogue (how many times now?), Shuffle Rogue, Attack Druid, etc...
It genuinely confuses me. Do they have data that shows players enjoy putting together these half-baked (and never fully baked) archetypes? I have to believe they purposely set out to design bad cards, because they have months to do so - why is Last Stand not 3 mana? If it would have been overpowered at 3 mana, why is it in the set? Why print a card that would never be included in ANY deck, even the most fundumb crap?
They've gotten somewhat better about this through the years, but still, here we've got a whole expansion themed around Undead minions and by the community's best reckoning, most of the epics and legendaries which interact with them are pretty bad - High Cultist Basaleph, Wither, Elder Nadox, Rotgill, Amorphous Slime. Why?
Anyway, sorry. Rant over. I love this game, but the card design philosophy - without touching disruption and overpowered costly minions - grinds my gears sometimes.
I wonder why they made it last for so long and not just say for two extra weeks. Guess they wanted to make damn sure the community wouldn't still be pissed off. I would still think two more weeks would be plenty of time unless perhaps you made zero progress before it ended the first time.
I would agree with you, but that literally is not the case with Runestones. You should at least check the prices before you make a claim like that. Everything costs the same it used to before Runestones.
I think if there is anything to be upset about when it comes to HS, it is the F2P experience. Runestones as they are, are not shady or slimy in the slightest.
Edit: I have made about 4(?) purchases since Runestones were implemented and I went to check to see if I have any left over since I never bothered. I had zero.
instead of taking the time to justify my opinion i just need to put it out there raw that if you play thief rogue i hope you get sideswiped by a lynx bus
It's very easy to win games when you're still mostly just facing pool 1. New players, simple mechanics.
You'll discover that both cards and decisions matter a whole lot more as your collection level progresses. It becomes much less "just poker" and much more about properly predicting what your opponent is going to do.
And if you want 8 cubes, basically ever, you have to be able to surprise your opponent in some fashion. Otherwise, they will retreat.
You can only buy them in bulk, which mean in some cases, you will be left with a currency excedent after buying the desired service. Ergo, you now have given actual money for virtually no service. (all you've got is an I-Owe-U).
Even "better", you're now incentized to spend that remaining currency, otherwise it would go to waste, right ? But because you will probably not have enough for the service you desire, you now have to buy even more currency.
It's particularily true for vulnerable consumer, as it "helps" them to underestimate the amount they actually spent. Because "it's not spending actual money ! I'd already paid for it".
Also, it's an opened gate to reimbursing purchase made with actual money in virtual currency. (I.E. not reimbursing anything at all). They cannot actually cross that gateway yet though. Because there's a lot of country which frown upon such practice. But still, it's opened...
If Psychological Pricing was a real card, and if it actually cost you 1.99 mana, you'd have .01 mana left and Double Cross wouldn't trigger. Totally OP.
I forgot to hit reply on another user's post. My bad.
On a side note, unless someone can correct me, Blizzard hasn't done anything Shady with Runestones yet. I expect them to do so, but at the moment 100 Runestons = 1 Dollar so everything costs the same. I wonder how it impacts other countries, though?
For the record, card number 50 in the expansion in terms of counting each set of 5 from left to right is Breadbuyer Anomalus, and it very well may shock you.
As for the "Blood Bank" Paladin Achievement, I´ve noticed that, again, it´s very easy to complete it in Duels - I´ve found out that when you manage to play as Paladin against an armor Warrior with HP that shuffles a bomb to your deck, that said bomb counts as your card - so it´s +5 damage with every bomb proc, making this achievement quick to complete this way.
@Alleria, Thanks and welcome back! I am glad to know you are doing better. Your absence was noticed 😉
Team5 finally managed to fix the rewards track level 400 missing daily and weekly quests issue, so I am currently stocking them up again for jumpstarting the March of the Lich King rewards track on December 6th.
I still intend to buy the Tavern Pass once more (the new Coin looks amazing), but I am not so sure about purchasing the mega bundle this time. The signature cards are just not appealing to me. Quite the contrary actually. Perhaps, the proper time has finally arrived for me to really start spending my huge stockpiles of gold (45K) and arcane dust (474K).
Predatory practice in marketing and sales actively hurts vulnerable people, and strive to create even more of them. (most notably, children and dopamine-addict)
Even, if you're not part of that vulnerable population yourself, you're still concerned :
It promotes mindless grinding, and force-fed content such as those egregious "you-have-to-play-mercenary" quest chainlink, or the weekly "go-get-yourself-grinded" 5-ranked win quest.
It's discouraging experimentation in deckbuilding for casual player. Because the cards you craft have to be good, otherwise, you're "wasting" dust. Thus, resulting in staler meta for everyone.
I could go on and on.
Cosmetic is the best step they have taken in years.
Price inflation, and whatever they are trying to pull with "runestone" are huge setbacks.
(I'm having mixed feeling about mini-set and that new "path of arthas" set. It does feel nice to have something to dump gold into. But apart from that, it stinks of bad/greedy intentions.)

Augmented Deathrattles Hunter - Full Deck and Guide on the Wildest of Days
Brilliant!
New Warlock Minion - Dar'Khan Drathir
I think this card will be great, since it enables some fun OTKs or combos in wild. Like this one below, should be possible and rather easy to pull off.
Baron Rivendare 4 mana (3)
Drakkari Enchanter 3 mana (2)
[Hearthstone Card (Amorphus Slime) Not Found] -> Dar'Khan Drathir 5 mana (4)
Shallow Grave on [Hearthstone Card (Amorphus Slime) Not Found] 2 mana (1)
14 mana (9)
= 4 x Dar'Khan Drathir + 1 x Drakkari Enchanter
= 4 X (6 x 2)
= 48 damage
One tick of Emperor Thaurissan or reduction from Runed Mithril Rod should be enough. or reduction from Tome Tampering + imp.
Obviously, you can't have other undead in hand, but that could be handled easily with proper deck building.

It's definitely more than anyone might've expected, but you won't hear me complaining. Now it might have the highest rate of completion of them all.
