I have a question though:

there are also some seasonal cosmetics coming in 2.4.1, obtainable through the Season Journey

could this be the ones we're still missing? Would be a waste of time still looking for them if they can be obtained just through Journey

We'll be announcing which items are part of the Season Journey via a blog soon; though, if you hop onto the PTR, you can see what the offerings are for Season 6.

You guys are awesome, collecting cosmetic items is so fun.

No plans to include those for 2.4.1. But who knows what the future holds?

So I can farm that whimsy potrait on non season? Really don't want to start season 6 farming for that staff again

Yes - it's possible to obtain all the new cosmetics outside of the Season (except for the ones that are clearly labeled as Seasonal rewards, of course).

If I'm not mistaken, wings, pets and portraits are available on both season and non-season, but the transmogs reset with every season.

Just confirmed this is correct. :)

Wait....so do we have to play in the seasons/or ladder or what not, to be able to obtain these things? Because...I have never done so...like evers

None of the new cosmetic items are Season exclusive unless otherwise noted. (For example, there is a new set of portrait frames and a pennant for Season 6, but they aren't included in this blog.)

Let me confirm to be certain, but I do not believe cosmetics are locked by Seasons.

Pets will be from the new goblin. Wings will come from various other sources, including but not limited to fights with specific bosses. Unless things have changed since ptr.

I am curious as to where the xmog items will drop from

Think of it as a community-wide quest. :) We purposefully didn't publish where they are all located to make it a bit of a treasure hunt. I'm looking forward to seeing (and being part of) the shared exploration among players!
