@PG_rayC Everybody defines cheating as just on the other side of anything questionable that they’ve done.

@AlabrelHS I mean @MeatiHS clearly defines what his definition of cheating is here. There’s no gray area

@PG_rayC @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS So you say, but you putting "Co-op'ing ladder" and Meatman putting "Co-op'ing tournaments" clearly shows that there is a difference here. What's your definition Ray?

@Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS It’s all the same. High level ladder and open cups.

@PG_rayC @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS Cool, I agree. The people making the rules however, don't. There's no rule saying that co-oping Top X ladder games is cheating, which is where i'd imagine quite a lot of the "No"'s came from.

@Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS Anyone who’s played a ton of open cups def co opd lmao. Also one being ok but not the other makes even less sense

@PG_rayC @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS I mean... I never did. You can't claim something like that without actual proof anyways; it makes the real cheaters look more innocent by comparison. But ye, i'm not the one writing these rules. Were it up to me and it was enforceable, I would ban co-oping in both.

@Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS That’s the point. You can never prove or disprove it. You’ll never know the real answer to the question

@PG_rayC @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS Which means all you've done in this thread is needlessly promote bad faith actors by claiming that: "Everyone cheats, so why shouldn't I?" That's clearly how it comes across to me with your attitude here mate.

@Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS The point is that the yes is definitely higher among competitive players. And that’s not a bad thing. The culture was different back in the day. No need to be ashamed of it. Co oping open cups and ladder wasn’t bad faith. It was just normal

@PG_rayC @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS I would very much argue that co-oping both of those was always unethical, not just back in the "Good ol' days." People just have less tolerance for it now because the people at the top are more honest with their intent imo.

@Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS I disagree. It wasn’t unethical. It was commonplace and normal. Everyone has their group and calls even if it was just to stay awake in those late nights.

@PG_rayC @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS No one back in 2016 forced you to stay up late to play Open Cup matches. You made that choice yourself, and absolved yourself of guilt because "everyone else did it." I don't believe that should be rewarded in any competitive system, past or present. Period.

@Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS There were no rules against it back in the day. Open cups were run by individuals or random orgs not by blizzard. There is no guilt because there was nothing wrong being done. Rules and cultures change. That is my point

@PG_rayC @Paraducks_GB @AlabrelHS @MeatiHS There wasn't the same stigma surrounding co-oping for ladder finishes in the past as there is now. Not saying it was ever right or ethical, but it certainly was more acceptable.
