I was really proud of this but then challenged my husband and he got it on second try. 😩 https://t.co/Ud3nxoGGO9

@IksarHS @so_bewitching @ItsMeMollyO this was me fifteen minutes ago, now I'm wondering what the best word to lead with is

@Celestalon @m_mccall @IksarHS @so_bewitching @ItsMeMollyO I don't think the goal should be to have the best 1st word in a vacuum, but to have the best 1st word that allows the best 2nd word with unused letters

@PVDDR @m_mccall @IksarHS @so_bewitching @ItsMeMollyO Yeah, 4th tweet in that thread talks about that, but it still seems like at least something in the 3rd tweet is about right.

@PVDDR @m_mccall @IksarHS @so_bewitching @ItsMeMollyO An interesting strategy might be to follow @adereth's logic, but for a *pair* of words, not just 1 first word.

@PVDDR @Celestalon @m_mccall @IksarHS @so_bewitching @ItsMeMollyO I was thinking about it, maybe you want the word that most limits number of possible words. In guess who if 9/10 have hats, you don't get much if you "green" hat. I know it's a different game but maybe the theory is the same?

@RTuck86 @PVDDR @m_mccall @IksarHS @so_bewitching @ItsMeMollyO Yeah, I think there's a question of what you're trying to optimize: Would you rather take an average of 3.0 attempts, with a 97% chance to solve within 6 attempts, or an average of 3.2 attempts with a 99% chance to solve within 6?
