Computer friends, help. I'm trying to determine if there's a reasonable solution to this hardware need: Laptop docking station that supports both Windows and Mac, with three monitor outputs. Googling for this is slowly turning my brain to pudding.

          @lackofrealism i would start by googling "triple monitor kvm" and plan to spend like $400+ usd

            @RidiculousHat @lackofrealism KVMs are one of those things that consistently cost considerably more than I expect them to.

                @RidiculousHat @lackofrealism I guess with UPSs, I know batteries can be expensive, and power supplies are the sort of thing that can damage your computer if not built just properly, with high quality shielding/etc.

                  @RidiculousHat @lackofrealism KVMs feel so much simpler, closer to just an electrical switch, or a train track switch. And the idea that a 3-monitor KVM is drastically more expensive than a 1-monitor one seems just *boggle* to me. Like, would you expect an 8port USB hub to be 5x the cost of a 6port?

                    @RidiculousHat @lackofrealism *shrug* Not at all trying to minimize the work/technology that goes into these things. Just saying that it's not obvious to me what the challenges here are, to warrant the cost.
