      @alkali_layke Well if you stopped renovations you would not find black mold. https://t.co/H5iE11FOi2

      @alkali_layke Odd place to find it. Hopefully there isn’t a bathroom or kitchen on the other side.

        @celazure101 There is. Big sigh.

          @alkali_layke Well it doesn’t look like a lot so hopefully it hasn’t spread into the wall too much. I don’t envy you.

            @celazure101 Hopefully. I'll pull up the floor board tonight and see. So far it's just looking like clean up, killz, 2 new sub floor sheets and one new length of baseboard. Maybe a small section of drywall. That's not too bad. We we're already replacing the carpet anyway

      @alkali_layke Nope! We found a creepy ceramic head amidst all the garbage. https://t.co/dCTNHGB9er

      @alkali_layke That means the carpet got wet. Did you have a leak or a huge spill there? A puppy that wet or threw up there? If there is a shower on the other side, check and see if the grout is totally sealed. If there are gaps in the seal, water can leak. Did the drain overflow?

        @alkali_layke Mold is black. Seeing it black doesn't mean you have a dangerous situation. It means you have wetness that you need to problem solve. That is a small isolated amount. I think you will be able to find and fix that problem. If the entire floor was covered in mold, that would be bad

          @alkali_layke Looking at that, the mold is mostly on the other side of the wall. Best wishes finding the sources for dampness and repairing it. I hope you are wearing a mask? It is a good idea to avoid breathing in mold spores that come from renovations.

            @LilyCrue Yes there's a toilet on the other side. Guessing it's the wax ring. I've replaced a few before so I'll check that first. The tank isn't leaking

              @alkali_layke I moved into a house and kept seeing water on the floor. I thought that it was from my showers. That I was splashing water getting in and out and maybe during. Then I discovered that the toilet had been broken and superglued back together. Leaked slowly all day.
