Why is it that ‘hire the best people’ is such an accepted and used form of advice? I wouldn’t start a GDC talk by saying ‘make the best game’. It’s like a dietician telling me to ‘eat the best food’. Yes I agree with you on your very obvious point but how will we do this?!

      @IksarHS can't we like, help train people into the best people for your game? so sad (almost) never seeing entry level positions, people only ever hire senior level :(

        @CaptainPlanetOW At least in design, I find what really happens is that associate positions get 100 applicants and hired right away and senior job postings have 0 reasonable candidates for months on end.

          @CaptainPlanetOW Hearthstone has hired probably 70% associates but if you check our job page on a given day it’ll be mostly senior job postings that have been there for months collecting tumbleweeds
