        @RidiculousHat Does that mean players with <8k go to 0 or reset only affects mmr >8k

          @lunaloveee8 @RidiculousHat Visible MMR is reset to 0 for everyone. Hidden MMR is capped at 8k. (There's also a normalization pass that happens to evenly distribute people across a bell curve, but that's minor and just for keeping good matches through the capping.)

            @lunaloveee8 @RidiculousHat Context for why these are different: They serve different purposes. Visible MMR is for feeling progression and comparing the skill of players that have played a lot of games. Hidden MMR is for creating fair matches.
