The reason everyone still complains after everything is nerfed is simple but honest and nobody wants to say it but I will. When every deck is designed around high roll mana cheating, uninteractive OTKS, or hyper aggression you're never going to be happy about what you face.

      @ZeddyHS i get the concerns but "everyone" is the part that seems like a stretch

        @RidiculousHat Hardly ever see praise for the game anymore, and I'm rarely the one doing the bitching anymore. Should be a pretty telling sign if you ask me.

          @ZeddyHS i'm somewhat unsurprised that month 10 of a 12 month cycle is bereft of significant commentary on standard, especially after a big bgs patch which has a lot of praise (and concern too). social media trends towards the negative since the people who are happy just... play

            @RidiculousHat @ZeddyHS yeah ive never seen a meta where everyone or even the majority of posts are positive. the people upset are always teh loudest.

              @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS the first few weeks of the first set or two of the year often start pretty positive and the negativity tends to ramp up as the sets age. not saying this to invalidate any concerns, but the cycle is pretty consistent

                @RidiculousHat @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS Not the last two years. This year secret paladin and lunacy mage were immediate hate beacons on set 1 release and set 2 was questlines. Year before was demon hunter and illucia + turtle mage.

                  @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS ashes yes, scholo was pretty well received if i recall. it was a crazy first month with a lot of variety. barrens had a rough start but stormwind in general i think had a lot of big fans as well as obv a lot of people who weren't happy.

                    @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS Social media / Reddit is pretty much the same reception every expansion. People remember it differently but we get the sentiment reports, it tracks the same almost every time. Honestly I wish it wouldn’t so we’d have more clear indicators.

                      @IksarHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS What do you mean by sentiment reports

                        @InziHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS We do a couple different kinds. Some are just written reports from community teams from all different regions. I trust these, but there is room for subjectivity from the writer. We also do more typical consumer surveys with large sample sizes and 1-10 scores on various questions.

                          @InziHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS And this is only analysis on what people say. We have much more thorough analysis on what players are actually doing in response to a set or feature or whatever release. That sort of analysis tends to be more useful, even if both are valuable.

                            @IksarHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS Extremely interested in how you do this portion of the response, this form of computational behavior problem appears to be implemented fairly differently from system to system based on what ive learned in research as a grad student so far

                              @InziHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS It’s a difficult problem. Mostly because there are so many variables it’s hard to pin any one result on any one action.

                          @IksarHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS Interesting, How do you handle the survey problem of “negative feedback” being more likely to be reported than “positive feedback”. I know different companies have several different ways to tackle this complex issue

                            @InziHS @RidiculousHat @adam_noodelman @TeamAmericaHS @ZeddyHS It’s hard to know what 8/10 means to someone on any question. I try to focus more on comparing to see if X release was more well received overall than Y release.
