Ngl...when I took this job I was star struck by the thought of working for Hearthstone and with the people I had always interacted with only online. @IksarHS @Celestalon @Songbird_HS were more like celebrities to me than any movie star. (I've met a lot of celebrities...meh) +

There was lot going on with Blizzard at the time and I took a good amount of negativity by some for even DARING to accept the role, but I knew I could make some positive changes. I know that women like me need to be here. Early last year I was fired up by some stories about (+)

how women in our community had been treated. I wanted it to get better. Before this job was ever posted I just knew I needed to work in this space somehow. I felt a strong pull in this direction. So that was the initial reason for even wanting this job. Help women and (+)

make esports a better place for them. AND, I'm doing that. Everyday. There's many of us...men and women...who want things to be better. But that wasn't it. I realized when I arrived at Blizzard that there was so much more that needed done. I was naïve and had NO IDEA how much (+)

needed done. @dylan @celso @Kaeyoh_ @hsdecktech showed me that our messaging needed to be more inclusive, especially towards all our regions. I'm embarrassed to admit that I had a lot more to learn about our global player base and how we communicate. Some of our messaging (+)

is only in English (especially on Twitter). When you hear awesome feedback from personal Blizzard accts, it's usually in English and a "bonus" for you...but what if that's not your native language? How can we improve that process? THIS is one of the things (+)

I'm talking about when I say that we need to be more "inclusive". AND there's more... BIG thank you to @StaceyofGotham and @superblindman for helping me learn about making messaging more accessible to our community. We have a really long way to go there and I'm excited (+)

to show you something SO COOL soon. Did you see the recent cinematic with audio descriptions in multiple languages? Lots of great people on our team worked on that. 🤩 I had a lot of growing to do when I came to the Hearthstone team and I've come really far. I care about (+)

@alkali_layke Few of my friends read Hearthstone news in Russian. Official posts and Russian community hubs. And I gotta say - there are a lot of problem with Russian translation and adaptation. Even the official cards in game get it wrong sometimes. But if we are talking about Twitter posts +

@alkali_layke and reddit comments - sometimes they are translated so poorly, they get the opposite result from the one they intended. It's not only HS problem. Translation is really hard. It's easier to learn English as I see it. But I'm still really greatful that you care and try.
