1st house for 220k in 2005. Bad predatory loan. Pre-payment penalty & balloon payment w/1 month gap to refi. 80/20 at 8.5%/14.5% Thankfully we refinanced in time. It's now a profitable investment property. Fast Frwd 17yrs, diff probs same difficulty. It shouldn't be like this.

@alkali_layke Maybe I'm reading this incorrectly, but wouldn't loan terms be much more favorable for your latest house purchase (time is weird these days so I forget exactly when)? Obviously I don't want to make assumptions about your credit or the Idaho mortgage scene.

@SidisiTV Oh this isn't about me. I got a 2.1 on my new house. This is about other people. There's lots of new problems now. Inflated home prices, low inventory, all cash offers etc etc.... I'm just saying new decade, new problems. It's not easy and it shouldn't be so hard

@SidisiTV Yeah, I mean does it matter much if the APR is down but a 100k house is inflated to 350k? Crazy. My 220k house is worth over 600k now. If never pay that for it. Sold my last house 230k for 470k. Just unreal.

@SidisiTV It's crazy to see two income families not able to purchase and having to buy houses at 300+sq/ft in some places. Unreal right now
