Shiro isn’t doing great. He’s going to stay in the animal hospital again through tomorrow for tests to see what they might be able to do to help him. I’m also not doing great, but I appreciate all your support.

Shiro is still at the hospital waiting on some tests, but the vet reached out to me to say it was really good that I brought him in when I did. The steroids he'd been given at his last visit apparently caused insulin resistance and put him into early diabetic ketoacidosis

Fortunately we caught it very early and they were able to treat him for it, so hopefully it won't cause lasting problems for him, and it would explain his sudden loss of appetite. We're still waiting on scans of his nasal cavity to help diagnose his breathing issues.

I know that we're not out of the woods yet by any means, but I'm feeling at least somewhat better, and I'm glad I listened to my gut to rush him in when I did.
